I think Steve was right on the money when he looked at the pictures of Nick's cover.
The needed part for the 748R head has the same width but less hight (45 mm in stead of 55).

Nick, no use sending me this part as it won't fit my head. Thanks for the offer though.

Just to let you all know, I got the part from Steve so I can get on with the build of my engine.

Came across this discussion,
Just thought i would add this as its an interesting thread.
I got this one off ebay as I'm going to change the cover on my 1999 748,B, which is the same as Denzil's early one,
