VERY urgent/important query for any Australians.

  1. Some now I don't think they'd ill be enjoying a drinks reception at Downing Street, or honours this time....

problem now is I've got until COB Monday to decide what to aply for (indeed if) in the lords ballot for tests later this year. Now...... Will, I be seeing the new young England team forming who will be the heroes of 2015....or the sad continued demise of the current centrally contracted incumbents...

my trip to the oval in 2013, ended up being a weather induced 8 hour drinking session -maybe that was a good thing. I don't remember much anyway!! Apart from a bleary stumble around the IWM.

  2. I'd definitely apply for tickets on the basis that :

    1. We won't be playing the Australians
    2. We are better on our pitches, especially when the weather can come to our aid to save bad situations.
    3. It's a good day out.

Never been to Lords, only the Oval. Sob!

  3. Currently 26 for 5 and no one has made double figures! My God! There are collapses and collapses!
Glad I'm not in Aus - you'd be ribbed to death.

  4. Im going to wear my England cricket top tomorrow in defiance of the actual bloody team. Christ, that was a bad tour :frown:

  5. My brother lives in Aus and now has an Aus passport. He clearly has divided loyalties. I have sent him a couple of TMS t-shirts so that he can support the cricket whilst being noncommittal about which team he is really behind.

I certainly wouldn't be wearing an England cricket top tomorrow. I don't mind them losing, but their lack of spine has been unacceptable. I vented my anger (such as it is) here.

And West Brom got knocked out of the FA cup by Palace, at home. Not been a good sporting weekend.

  6. Totally agree on both points!

  7. I think its's 5-0, on ya boat captain Cook and take ya minows with ya!!!!!

  8. The hubris of this thread (not that I started it...) has already bitten England in the bum.
How long before it bites Australia too? 18 months?

  9. We will have to wait and see, but in the mean time it gives us Aussie's the braging rights, for now

The amount of stick I received last year was mental, now all those responsible have suddenly gone quiet, so my phone bill has gone through the roof calling my friends back!!!

  10. Good word, hubris. Should be used a lot more.

  11.

At last! - 6 months goes by and 166 posts later and eventually, one takes the bait. There must've been quite a few views from down under since it got started but you (I think) are the first to pop their head up. Should've got involved ages ago.

Anyway, now you're here you can fill your boots as England crumble in the one-dayers.

We've had a great run (for us) since '05 but it's always so much sweeter for us when we win.

Oh, and er, one day you might, just might, beat us in the Olympics too. :upyeah:

  13. you've got until midnight tonite, to apply. if i get any spare tickets ill let you know…..you could use it as an excuse/reason to have a trip to Oxford.

I'm optimistically thinking i will be seeing the rebuilding of a team and momentum - assuming it does not rain…., after all, its guaranteed sun in june/july , isn't it?

  14. Love to come for a day's cricket! :upyeah:

I am also deco going to try to get tickets in 18 months time for Day 2 of the Lords Ashes Test. Never been to Lords.

  15. Always gone to Lords, never seen cricket played anywhere else.....dads a member of the MCC, so its a nice father/son day out when we go :upyeah:

  16. ....er, owzat?

Women’s Ashes 2014: England wary of overconfidence after win

England captain Charlotte Edwards said her team will not underestimate Australia's powers of recovery in the Women's Ashes despite taking a 6-0 lead on points in the multi-format series.

  17. Clutching at straws.

We're going to get stomped in the ODIs although the BBC headline "England thrashed in first ODI" was somewhat of an exaggeration. They beat us with 26 balls to play - a decent enough victory, probably, but hardly a thrashing.

  18. Oh we were thrashed. They still had many wickets in hand and in ODI cricket, 26 balls is an innings.
Anyway, the women are winning, so who gives a shit about the mens game

  19. Cricket is less relevant in the sporting firmament these days. Women's netball is the future.

  20. We still scored more runs than in several of our Test innings. We've been all out for less than that. Still, Johnson wasn't playing, was he?
