  2. If I was selling this one in the fine condition and good running order it is in today, I would not take less than £10K. At one of the classic Ducati dealers (e.g. Petro Di Marino, John Fallon) it would be £12K at least. If you found one to buy for £8K, that means it needs £2K spending to bring it up to condition. I shall see if the insurers will accept £10K as an agreed value. These also came in black, orange, or red paint but they look best in yellow.

And by the way, @XH558 why do you "Dislike" my post, or my bike?

  3. I don't know why people are down on Scramblers, I think they're pretty little things. Is it a spring head or a Desmo?

  4. Valve springs. There were some 450 Desmo scramblers known as RTs, mainly for California.

  5. A great investment by yourself there Pete and probably a pleasure to ride as well,my mistake on the keyboard & now corrected for you.:upyeah:

  6. Nice and simple then. Am currently getting together a 250 Desmo single and looking forward to a bit of bevel-tiddler fun. :)

  9. Today was supposed to be insurance day for the girls but we've been told not to ride so I'll wait it out a little longer. The old girl is already naked and ready to rumble:

  11. bloody gorgeous, apart from wheel colour imo.:upyeah:

  12. Hi guys, this is my 1974 Desmo 450. It has had many rebuilds over the years, the last one after I retired it from road racing in the early 00s, and was then converted back to road trim. It still has the Imola cam and 42mm inlet valve, but a lower cr for the road (900SS piston), and a 40mm Dell Orto. In race trim, it won the 500cc Irish Road Racing Championship in 1985. The replica Conti silencer and header were made by Keihan to my specs. Early Maxton cartridge dampers in the front forks and longer, bespoke Falcon shocks. 450 at SkerriesMay12.jpg

  13. The ultimate Ducati single, with amazing history?

  14. Three bikes I had a few years ago.... still have the Yamaha (anyone ridden a 1970s 250cc recently? feels about as quick now as a sports moped felt in the 70s)
    888 replaced by a 900SL which I still have.

Since taking the photos the Yamaha has the correct rear shocks and decals on oil tank.
I think it's 100% standard apart from alloy rims.

  16. Very nice it looks at home in the photo in skerries?

  17. I'm rather partial to these 1970's off roaders, tell me is it restored or all original.

  18. Spot on! Yes, Skerries (for UK members, it's in North Co. Dublin).
Also, not so far away, a classic car and bike gathering takes place each year in Dunboyne. It's a nice, brisk spin but you can't cut people up and you're supposed to go slow through the village! This on-board vid is from last year:
