  8. Err, no. It's a keeper. Or at least until I'm too old and knackered to ride it anymore. Bout 6 months then.....

  10. Were you out on this bike at Donington 12th July ? a mostly wet day, as are all my track days at the moment, hopefully next Tuesday at Silverstone will remedy that.

  11. Still looking for the right 1198, looked at three now, two 1198S, and an 1198, none of which did it for me sadly, must be getting too picky in my old age. :sunglasses::italy:

  12. Yes mate, twas I. And that was the last effin UK track day I ever book. Sick to death of pissing rain on UK track days. I got 3 sighting laps in and half a session. Shite... Toys out the pram. Got 6 miles north of Donington and it was bone dry. And had been all day, ffs.
I think it was scorchio the following Tuesday?? Hope you had an epic time at Silverstone? What were you on at Donington?

  13. Can you not book them on the day?

I know what you mean, I have 2 weeks off and haven't had a rain free day yet. When I was a kid, we had months of sunshine in the summer, I thought global warming was supposed to take care of this sh**e. :(

  14. No, you can't Rob. Especially not Donington because it's so popular and almost always sells out during the summer. You just have to take a punt with the weather.
But yeah, since about 2006 we've had warmish wet summers and mild/wet winters. It's all about this friggin 'jet stream' or something. Either way, UK weather is largely shite!

  15. I was on a Aprilia RSV4 Factory, an all black one. I went out about two rows behind you on that first damp/wet/dry line session in the morning, thought I didn't see you out again after that session. You look like you know what you are doing out there , just managed to get on the back of you as the flag came out, pity my camera was on the back of my bike on that session. I know what you mean with the UK weather, I have certainly done more Euro events than UK ones over the last few years, however Portimao in May this year was a complete wash out for me. Silverstone on Tuesday next week, weather looking good at the moment, then three days in Mugello 19th-21st August, then either Jerez in October or Andalucia not decided yet. :italy::sunglasses:

  16. Ha ha, ace! A guy in my garage on an all bells and whistles S1000RR said he would 'show me some lines' which was sweet I suppose. As I was on brand new slicks (& brake pads) I was happy to follow him. I thought it would be rude to blast past him but I do remember thinking 'c'mon ffs' After that it was greasy all day... Ah well, never mind eh. I got home with me and the bike in one piece.
Portimao always dodgy for rain. It's the Manchester/Glasgow of southern Europe.
I do the Euros with Tracksense. A bit dearer but much better than FE & NL imo. Cheers, Paul
