Its for dress so the daily seamaster stuff isn't really her bag. She prefers her fitbit lol Tempted to chuck a really cheeky offer in....
I see where you're going Ron, but 550 22 years ago and a grand now has no real relevance does it ? What will a grand be worth in real money 22 years from now?
Am going out to play snooker in a bit, but can send you links to some good watches later if you like ?
Snooker....wow that takes me back...my local drinking club has a table and I haven't even had the stick out yet !
Well if you ever down here and would like to take some money off me at 5 quid a frame, as I'm shit, you're more than welcome
PS. if Mrs B just after a nice dress battery watch. Seiko kinetic would be my choice, but I certainly wouldn't part with big bucks for a quartz. Laters
In the 1970s, Hurricane Higgins (then an unknown) came to England from Belfast, and stayed around the Accrington / Blackburn area for a time. He used to go in the local bus drivers/transport/working mens clubs pretending to be a snooker novice. He'd offer to play a member for ten shillings, and lose badly. Then he'd offer them a second frame (for a fiver or a tenner) and wipe the floor with them. Just sayin' .......
I bought the Seamaster in 2004 (when it was 9 years old, but with box and all the associated docs) - at that time a new one cost £1500. I agree that mechanical ones are probably more desirable. it all breaks down to what do you need/want, most modern quartz will keep better time for far less maintenance cost, but again people buy a luxury time piece for different reason. With a quartz, you don't have to wind it up daily/reset the date/wear it daily or it stops. at the end of the day whatever tickles your pickle
Only at the end of a non 31 day month. I get pissed off with having to re-set the dates when collecting one of my automatics/mechanicals after it's been in pawn for a couple of weeks
The Constallation Quadra does not appear to be a current model ? I can't find one on the Omega website. Andy
Winding up my watch every morning is a pleasure. It connects me to my time piece. It keeps good enough time for me in an analogue world. I like vintage watches and mechanical ones specifically.
There's a term in golf for people like you, I think it's "Bandit" Do you play billiards at all Mr 58 ?
No mate, just snooker, kinda peaked years ago to be honest, reached my best about 10 years ago, but still enjoy playing regular. Once in a blue moon, bang in a good break, but mostly, merely average. (Don't play golf either but my brother plays off scratch)
I love Omega's. Probably the best quality watch package for your money. Lovely finish to them and excellent in house movement. I've got an every day Rolex Sea Dweller but I'd say the Omega's are a nicer finish. This is my fuck off showy off watch. I lusted after a nice Panerai for yonks so when I was in the US (big saving), I bought this bad boy. Not everyone's cup of tea but I love it. An eight day mechanical manual wind up. 3 springs connected in series. Class.
