  2. Thank you. Hopefully no more watches after this one - as high up the expensive watch food chain that I am prepared to go.

The new strap will likely transform the look of your Omega in the picture.

Point taken - the cars were likely on finance and so not actually belonging them. Also likely that walking away and leaving absolutely everything behind did cost them considerable amounts of money - as you mention balanced against a likely prison sentence.

There is another way of looking at the discarding or the leaving of valuables (treasures) behind - the SUNK COST FALLACY. This is a universally understood behavior of continuing with a bad idea because of time and/or money that has already been invested in it.

There comes a point when something is not working out and rather than carry on - or even increase the time and or money expenditure - it is simply time to bail out and move on.

  6. Roll up roll up - Tag for sale - bargain price of £450 GBP - I will pay the VAT and postage - how generous is that.

Purchased new from local Jewelers in December 2020 - see post #487 of this thread.

    Pictures taken this morning.
    Low mileage
    Excellent overall condition

Bought this used from an Omega dealer around 5 years ago.
Just had a new battery and pressure test.
    Paid 1500 for the watch.
30 pounds for battery and test at an independant a couple of months back.
    Keeps perfect time.
Imo the best value quality watch on the market.

  13. Maybe you should get a data tag tracker for your other wrist?

  14. Nice watch. Posts like yours yours - owners of Omega Seamasters using their watches daily definitely helped me decide to get one as well.

Agreed they are excellent value for something prestige, capable of being used as a daily watch and a good looking timepiece.

I collect mine tomorrow lunchtime and I have already paid for it - £3,709. Is that a lot of money ? in the abstract I do not believe that £3,709 is itself a lot of money.

Interesting the service costs as well.

  16. I'd say 15000 is a bargain for that :upyeah:

  17. Service costs; I was going to take mine back to Northern Goldsmiths up in Newcastle, but they could not do the work (battery, seal, check over..) before my return to France, due to a back log. Quote was around £350!
I took a chance and went to a small repairer in Durham city. 30quid. With a twelve month guarantee....

Great watches though. I only remove mine when doing building work. Love the clear dial and lack of fuss.

  18. Are you sure the water seal is good for depth? It might be, I could have simply be ripped off for years believing that it required specialist equipment to reseal 100m+ watches. I would not want to find out after a swim one day though...

  19. Tbh, no. Never used for more than a swim though.
I did some sports diving when younger, that would be worth investing in a proper service for, I am sure.
