With those kind of figures you'd be looking at a seriously useful bit of machinery. Gizza go mister..?
With all the flack The Legend Mr R is getting i'm so surprised he's not joined the forum yet!! Lol Incoming ?
Out of curiosity how difficult was it to rig the ST3 clocks? I quite fancy doing it myself, looks so good.
Howdo Yets! The clocks IMO really do look the part and are so much lighter!!! Which is nice, also gets rid of the Speedo/Rev cables. However they can be expensive, I used the whole ST3 loom (Modified many times, still not to the standard I'm after but its a working progress) so it was a plug and play for me in regards to the electronics. I had to modify the headlight frame as the clock supports are closer together than on the 2 Valve clocks. For your self you would need to rig an electronic speedo and a feed for the rev counter and alter the front harness (Maybe a 1000DS harness???). The system works on a CAN (Centralised Area Network) as well which talks to the ECU and the key (magnetic surround reads chip in the ignition key) So not sure with out really looking at it how the clocks work with out the ECU???? Should take no more than half an hour:wink: Best of luck if you do take it on! Pablo
Cheers Pablo! I think it looks fantastic. At the moment I don't have the funds but I'll consider it when I do. It seems a lot of work trying to find pieces. Will probably end up bombarding you with questions
Howdo! Well Pat dropped of me Ergal pulley's from Italy - Mia piace molto! (Had to get them for a 998 - 20 tooth, he's also doing 2 valvers at £66 a set I think). Just need something to hold them (E-mailed Thomas Performance parts they might do a pulley holder). Also gotta new set of belts from Louigi Moto - fast delivery!!!! But OMG belts have gone up in price £107 for a set And I have been really bored and lightened a few penny washers Yes I know if I had a hair cut it would have the same result - but it all adds up (Well thats what I tell me self!!) Pablo
Howdo! Well done a few of the smaller jobs this weekend, replacing brackets, spacers for alloy ones, rod ends changed, few more shiny Ti bolts. However nothing more frustrating than waiting on parts, fairings to be precise.........be ready Sept,Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar and now we are in April mmmmmmmh. But even more frustrating is not being able to ride in this weather :frown: Well all I can do is clean and start her up......bugger! 2 more weeks then might try and venture out to see Mark Hill who hopefully can sort out me exhaust ready for the re-map. Also did a bit of scientific weighing on the good old Kitchen scales 63kg FWD 73kg AFT as she is in the pic, realise its a bit hit n miss just food for thought. Bored!!!! Pablo
Howdo! Well came back from work and Pat had dropped off me Pulley holding tool from these guys. Thomas Performance Parts Modded it a little bit to fit the ST3 and it fits a treat. So it was time to have a play  Removed the plugs and rotated to TDC. Marking off with a yellow tyre pen on the pulley's. Then had a go at measuring the freq of the belts with the CBT tool. Home of CBMTool the Ducati belt tensioning tool It stated 142hz on the program, I was more interested in getting a baseline incase I couldn't progress I could revert back to the way it was. I was going to change the belts (However they are in very good condition, with little mileage) I got 140hz a few times but most the time 90-92hz (This could be down to ma flicking!!!!). Removed the tensioners and pulled the belt of the pulley (Horizontal pulley first), fitted the Pulley holder & an M8 bolt in the belt tensioner hole (Just to stop the holder from whizzing round). Fitted the nut removal socket and out comes the breaker bar Bit of effort and the nut starts to move!!! Weighed the original. Against the lightweight. Replaced using new shiny nuts (Of flea Bay) instead of the chocolate Ducati nuts, torqued upto 71Nm. 1 down:smile: Moved onto the Vertical, same process.......................bloody nut starts to spread and damages chocolate nut on the camshaft Bugger! Well new nut on order and after seeing other threads on here I think an impact gun is on the cards. As for the layshaft pulleys my 2valve retaining tool doesn't fit the slightly wider spaced holes????? Mmmmmh so the current intention is to sort the Vertical pulley and replace the belts and tensioners. Then look for another bloody Ducati tool. Cheers Pablo
Yep! Saw that on the sprocket nut thread. Was getting carried away.....looking at air compressors (convincing myself it maybe handy some day~??) Just been out at half time found me old nut removal socket (Old socket cut to slot in) and got medieval on its arse! Bosh! Nut gave in like a girl! Pulley on will sort the belts tomorrow
I have a hyrovane HV01rm single phase S/H for sale. VGC and not done alot of work. Could do a deal on parts
Howdo!! Well hopefully sorted me cam timing out and dialled them in at 114 degree centre line, bike seems as strong as before and ticks over Only been for a short blast as me blasted knee was playing up. Will know on thursday as upto Chris at CJS for a re-map. Well got meself up to speed with a new I phone thingy and purchased a ultimate add-ons case and bracket (Modified a little to fit) so will also test that on the way to Chris's and see if the GPS is any good?
Howdo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just got back from CJS, had the old girl re-mapped properly. Oh my! Previously the bike made 115Bhp 77lb of torque..............now she is kicking out 123Bhp!!!!!! 78lb of torque. Impressive figures for an old Superlight but that's not half the story, bike is far more tractable and smoother. Top job by Chris Steadman, well recommended! Will stick up the dyno once Chris can E-mail it on. CJS RACING Ducati Cylinder Heads Tuning Gas Flow Dyno ECU Custom Mapping Bristol Bath
