Waterproof boot suggestions.

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Banus, May 27, 2012.

  1. Alpinestars SMX-R Goretex - race styling and protection, and utterly waterproof - even after going down the road at 40mph in them. Cost me about £250 from GetGeared a few years ago.

  2. another vote for Daytona. Wouldn't trust my toes in anything else.

Warm (not hot) in the summer, but toasty in winter.

  3. I had two pairs - the velcro kept going and eventually the zips. Had my Daytonas for longer now and all still in one piece.

  4. Hi Banus...

    Just seen this thread!

The tears are rolling down my face... you, the bike and the rain! ha ha you really are having a laugh right!

  5. Well dammit!

A zip has finally gone in one of my Alpinestars SMX Goretex boot. I shall be taking this to a cobbler person to see if it can be replaced. If not, after a bit of web trawling, I will definitely be getting these:

S-MX Plus GoreTex Boot | Alpinestars

Not cheap (though it seems that direct from Italy will be quite a bit cheaper - having found an address and already knowing my Alpinestars shoe size) but if they last 10 years like my current Alpinestars, a good investment. Essentially the same as their race boots but with some Goretex in them.

  6. I'm interested in some black Dainese TRQ's, cheapest i've found is £169, anyone know someone selling them cheaper?

  7. I've got Sidi Black Rain and they always kept my feet dry but then I never ridden in a rain for a longer period of time.

  8. I have the same boots, they NEVER leak. i've also crashed twice in them, including getting them wedged between a CBR 600 and the road at speed. They look a little well used now, but are still quite serviceable. They are also never too hot, or too cold. Fantastic boot.

  9. TCX synergy like these:

TCX SYNERGY BOOTS EURO SIZE 36 NEW!!!! | eBay

Very comfy. You can walk in them unlike many bike boots and they still look reasonably sporty and not too touring!

What's not to like about them at thea money! I went to these fomr TCX race boots.
