  3. Hi Paul, any news on hotel?.
    Thanks

  4. Apologies if I didn’t respond earlier Tony, you’re in :) I’ll post an updated spreadsheet tomorrow, working today :(

  5. Hi Paul... sorry for any confusion, I meant have you released the hotel, back to the hotel to put on booking.com etc as not 100% sure if I can make it... if others want the hotel, then please let them have it, if I can go I'll find somewhere else close by... Thanks

  6. It’s not released yet, I’ll be talking with them during the week and we’ll see what the situation is then.

Are you talking about @chizel ’s Scrambler or a particular stop off we should stop off at?

  13. Updated spreadsheet attached.

@7ony I've put your name against a family room for now but we can re-arrange things.
    Two questions please.
    1. Are you there for all 3 nights (Fri/Sat/Sun)?
    2. Are you willing to share a room?

At the moment I've got @Expat Jack and @cookster in a twin room for just the Saturday night so I may have to re-jig things nearer the time.

Don't forget the prices you all see are for the room, not per person.

  14. These are my proposed routes (currently). Depending upon feedback and more research done by me nearer the time they may change.

The first image below is Saturday's proposed route via Aberyswyth. F (there's an A under there), B,C,D,E,F

The 2nd & 3rd images below need to be combined as a single route but AA route planner won't let me put in more than 4 'via' so I had to create it as 2 routes. The idea is that it's a figure of 8 around and through the Brecon Beacons National Park. Ignore the normal sequence of letters on images 2 & 3, my thoughts are E, B, C, D in the 2nd image below then A,B,C,D,E,A in the 3rd image below.

Each route is c.4hrs not including stops; with stops for coffee/tea/fags/piss/photos/lunch etc etc I reckon the best part of 6 hours out each day.

Further to previous posts @bradders @mvman all comments and feedback are appreciated.

  16. If you have time try and get on the 44 from crossgates to Kington! My favourite part! There’s a big cafe, garage at crossgates it will be full of bikes, cracking place as is the bus station at Abergavenny! Those routes above are spot on!if I can join you I will as i love those roads, been riding them for years

  17. Over the ranges to Garth is always good but watch out for the sheep.

Beulah to Newbridge on Wye is also pretty spectacular. I tend to call it the roller-coaster, rises and falls, nice a twisty too.

Rather than the A44 from Rhayader to Aberystwyth consider the Elan Valley, going via the reservoirs.

So many great roads around that way...

  18. anyone use 'MyRouteApp' ? could plot the routes on there and load onto sat navs? Both look fun, :upyeah:

  19. Do you mean the road through Lower & Upper Chapel rather than the A470?

I'm planning a stop at Crossgates; the bus station at Abergavenny I wasn't aware of that so thanks for the heads up on that one. A44 to Kington is going in the opposite direction on that day.

I did think of the Elan Valley and was also considering coming off the A44 at Dyffryn Castle and going via Devil's Bridge to the south side of Aberystwth but was advised it depends on what bikes most are riding; if sports bikes, stick to the main road, if naked or multi's then take the other roads.

I guess the same logic applies to the Beulah to Newbridge road?

'over the ranges to Garth' is, I presume, the road via Lower & Upper Chaple?

Thanks all for the feedback and input:upyeah:

  20. I don't have a satnav for the bike:(. For me, it's going to bits of paper and route checks at each stop. I probably couldn't see the thing anyway unless I had my reading glasses on, which I don't wear when riding. However, I'm aware may do use satnavs and I have been looking into these things and will, if possible, get the finalised routes in some format that others can upload into their satnavs (if I can).
