Yes, just like the business where you had to check the agree to marketing boxes after clicking on the emails asking you to change your password, without requiring a login, so that you could get the DOC discount code for tickets. A total fuck up. I'm glad I wasn't intending to go this year.
Just looked on the web site and it states a three day pass is 65 euros with DOC discount it is 50 euros but if purchasing through DOC it seems you have 15 euros postage, why not just buy your tickets on arrival at Mizano for the same total price of 65 euro or buy on-line and pick up at the reserved ticket counter. I purchased mine on the day at Mizano and still got the welcome pack with tee shirt. Steve
Birdie - that's all well and good for those folks who have not yet paid anything. (Although the fact they appear to have changed prices yet again so that a DOC rate 3 day pass is 50 Euros not 55 is another concerning sign about the shambolic organisation ...) The problem is for those of us who have already paid 55 Euros for the DOC rate ticket and a further 12 Euros for postage of it, and are now being asked for a further 3 Euros.
And they wanted it paid by International bank transfer for which most banks charge £25 per transaction.
Am I understanding this correctly? People are being over charged for postage (due to internal error?) on tickets that have been reduced, and will probably have to pay an additional bank charge of £25 to resolve the problem.
I do sympathise with those of you stuck with this dilemma and agree it's a complete cock up, but I can't see the benefit of buying tickets in advance, the possible saving isn't enough of an incentive to commit in advance. Hope you all get a satisfactory conclusion . Steve
Birdie - if you'd seen the queues and felt the heat at WDW, you'd want to do whatever you could to avoid them. If you're planning an expensive foreign trip around going to the event, you want to be damn sure you'll get in - and not risk finding e.g. there's a massive turnout and they don't want to let anyone else through the gates.
I have been and bought my tickets at the tent in the car park on two occasions, didn't have to queue , infact I walked straight up to the front both times, 2012 and 2014 in 2012 it was extremely hot and I walked from Riccione to the circuit.
According to SDC : "Communication from Ducati now states this was an error. Members DO NOT have to pay the extra €3 euros and will shortly be getting an email to confirm and apologise from best union for their mistake"
Thats great! I hope they are about to send similar error notices about the CRAP engine paint and CRACKING speedo lenses... Edit "Communication from Ducati now states this was an error. Owners of all models ever made DO NOT have to suffer flaking paint or useless cracked speedos, the extra €30000000 euros we have been charging for replacements will end and a warranty recall will shortly be sent via an email to confirm and apologise from Ducati for their terrible quality control"
Hi Derek, Thanks, I haven't had an email informing me yet as I had paid the Eu12 for my postage, can you put up a copy of the email (anonymised) just so I can quote back to Ducati. Cheers Jim.
Sorry Jim, I personally have no such email but had it confirmed at the weekend by word of mouth from one of the Scottish Ducati Club committee who has spoken to the Ducati's Owners Club liaison person and WDW organiser on the phone about their concerns with this issue. I am fully assured that this is being addressed.
Cheers mate and no worries, just been discussing with DOCGB and it looks like Ducati are going to forego the error and the guys at DOCGB are chasing for a response so hopefully it will all be cleared up soon.
