  2. other people will no doubt flame me, and talk of market forces and the importance of sustaining existing jobs within a mechanised ethos, but in my view Ducati (or whoever/whatever owns them) HAVE STOLEN FROM YOU.
I had this row on here about Matt Corse's wheels which disnintegrated and everyone on here legitimising the buck being passed, and no one having to take responsibility..

The way youve been treated is an utter disgrace mate...im fkn seething and it hasnt even got anything to do with me...corporate arseholes..its theft, pure and simple.

Surely, you MUST have some kind of legal redress...did you use a credit/debit card, was there a written confirmation?? Anything??
Surely they cant just steal like this...who are they?? a fkn BANK???

Makes you wanna go to the museum and smash up the fkn place.

Wankers....lets hope this piece of shit 899 ruins them and theyre up for sale AGAIN.

    Disgusting.

  4. All they will be liable for is the cost of the factory visit.

  5. Never a truer word spoken.

  6. this reinforces my belief that one can never be a fan boy (or girl) of ANY company.
Their loyalty is to their senior board, then the shareholders..the punter is somewhere beneath the rats that leave faeces in the staff kitchens. The punter is a money donor.

Check out those turds at Apple who buy into all this evangelical bullshit...i cant believe people fall for all that shit..but they do..people camping out for 3 nights in the pissing rain because a company who dont know you or care about you are going to start selling you an expensive phone..youre merely a demographic....yet these punters will defend and defend and promote to the enth degree..wake up.
If the bikes are good, or there is one you love then thats brilliant...thats the end of the relationship as far as im concered..

yes i love Ducati motorcycles..the machines, that is...im interested in the romance of the companies history..thats it..
This is why i dont give a toss about which factory wins which race, or which team wins..i support the rider.

Fekk em mate..dont sell your Duke though..its okay to love the bike, and despise the fat, balding, suit wearing pricks who shuffle bits of paper around and run the show....

    bunch of bummers*

*im trying to bring this great expression back into common parlance. your support is appreciated...what about 'ace'?

  7. Do like "ace", but prefer "bellends" to "bummers", far more PC.

  8. i thought you'd say that...

    cockshiner

  9. I've had a message from Tim from Ducati uk who will look into it for me. If nothing else at least it proves that he cares enough to reply and try to help. So thanks to Tim whatever the outcome

  11. I prefer bumder , not personally you understand

  12. Thats in frequent use too

  13. i think bumder is a little contrived, as its merely a quotation..it lacks the credentials in my view..bummer however, was in constant use up and down the country when i was kid...and it is of course, such a pathetic insult, which adds to its enchantment.

  14. Im glad he got back to you. Whenever I have spoken with him, it comes across that he genuinely cares about person standing right in front of him. An all round nice bloke....that opinion may change if I ever worked for the man thou

  15. oh yeah..the thread..i forgot about that..thanks matt.

  16. factory visits are free....and £10 to get into the museum or free if you are in a ducati owners club
ive had 3 factory visits within the last 12 months and ive mucked ducati about rearranging timings etc several times and theyve always been very prompt and nothing was any problem.
did they not offer any alternatives at all?
mayb rebook through the website again and remember you have three time options to choose from
if it doesnt happen its not all lost
bologna is a stunning place and theyrs loads to do as mentioned in previous posts

  17. It was, though.
    I was there. Same year.

  18. I went in 2009 with a mate of mine . Just turned up and got a full factory tour and museum look around and this one done it for us. Just needed a little coaching .

  19. To be fair, I was invited to go and see the Ducati marketing people once (because they thought I could be useful to them - not sure that I was).
I was amazed to see how tiny their staff was - like minuscule. I'd hate to work there. To get all the stuff done that they do you'd need a 14 hour day and I bet it's not very well paid.
Not too much in the way of suits shuffling paper. More like passionate people who seem to get an awful lot right without having much in the way of marketing training. I couldn't help but be impressed and horrified in equal measure.

It's a bit tough to be down on Ducati in the sense that their business is to make money and they finally now seem to make more of it than they ever have done. Indeed, when I was investing paltry sums in shares I considered buying theirs. But one look at the share price performance would tend to make you think that it would be better to invest in pigs ears than Ducati. So I am happy for them if things are finally going their way.

It's easy to see them an an evil brand jumping on marketing bandwagons and exploiting the punter. The reality is more a smallish little Italian company trying to make ends meet and gradually arriving in the 21st century with a staff of highly talented and passionate engineers running the show. This may change a bit now, in that they will probably become more professional, which is what their customers will by large prefer.
