Try and set up a personal tax account with HMRC and one of the pieces of information they use to verify you are who you say you are, is your passport number.
On that government gateway portal I think I ticked a box once so that they could use my passport photo which they had online to go on my new driving license without me having to do anything so the info must be there I just don’t know the method they would have to use to get it cos I approved that by box ticking.
