There's some bullshit foreigner hating going on in this thread. Sort your shit out people. Being burgled is horrible, but it's no excuse for general foreigner hate and some of you are just jumping on the bandwagon to get your shots in.
I think it's been established by the police that there's an Eastern European gang going round committing these crimes, Simons theft displays all the hallmarks of the same gang, so it's fair to make the assumption. It not racist or any of that PC bullshit but fact! I'm really sorry to hear about this. Simons an honest, hardworking chap and didn't deserve this, and neither does anyone. Good and bad in every race, always has been and always will, it is a fact of life, my comments were aimed at the scumbags that entered my home while me and my family were asleep in our beds, I made no assumptions that these scumbags were east European, I was acting on the information that was given to me by the attending Police, they knew who it was as soon as they arrived on site as this gang do things in a very certain way,for example, all broken door parts were removed from the property and phones placed outside the front door, so lets not get hung up on the racist thing, yes my words were strong, but for very good reason I think. I f you are offended by my comments I am sorry, but it is the way I feel and I am not jumping on the big racist band wagon as to me wrong is wrong no matter what your religion or race. @camelfarmer , @Exige , @Carr01 , I now see my comments have caused offence and I am sorry for that, I never get involved in forum bitching its not in my dna and for the record my comments and I am sure others will agree are aimed at criminals being allowed to ply there trade with little chance of being brought to justice.
I find it hard to believe that @camelfarmer comments were aimed at you Simon. You are right about the modus operandi pointing the finger at certain groups of ne'r-do-wells. As a farmer I see rogues with Irish accents trying it on on a regular basis. This doesn't tar every Irishman with the same brush.

I get that you didn't mean any offense and as others have said your post wasn't the one that was over the line. However I think it is interesting to note how you called them something along the lines of 'east european scum' .... I understand that there's been a slate of burglaries and yours was most likely also carried out by this gang. What I think we've seen is an example of you saying something perhaps a little carelessly and other people getting their pitchforks out ready to take revenge on anyone from that group of people, which is scary, and unfair to anyone else from group of people. I've had my house burgled and had a bike stolen from outside the house on another occasion. I know it's really shit. But I'd hope that people would be more careful when feeling the need to describe a criminal or gang with their ethnic, racial, or national origin. No one would accept you saying 'the black scum' etc... Anyway I hope your insurance sorts it all out Quickly.
We were burgled a few years back. Sat at home on a Sunday evening when three balaclavad men took it turns to kick down the from door. We ran to the door, shouting, as it split in two. They piled in, screaming at me to get on the floor. My wife made a break for it and ran upstairs to grab the phone as one of them chased after her. This is where is went in to slow motion for me, not knowing what was happening to her, it began to get really scary, I felt powerless. Still they were screaming in my face to get on the floor and to hand over the keys. I was holding a lot of keys for properties at the time and didn't fully understand what keys they were demanding, until one said the car keys, I quickly handed them over. He shouted his mate from upstairs and they left. I lasted minutes but seemed like hours. My wife was un hurt, we were both very shaken. We found out the car was later used in an armed robbery All three had north mancunian/ Asian accents. The attending officer suggested I should have used self defence!... ... against three potential armed men one of which was holding my wife? That Very helpful suggestion from the attending officer only served to undermine my reactions and question myself, and years later still plays on my mind...what if? ... could I have done better? Yeah, cheers for that!
IF they are kicking doors in, they are happy to use violence. Unless your core trade is violence, give them the keys. It’s insured (probably). We all like to think we’d go all Jason Statham, but the fact is unless you are used to fighting all the time you freeze rather than fight. Scum are scum. Doesn’t matter where they come from. I do wonder if there are troops of Brits scouring Poland and other places for cars and doing the same?
