I agree with others that the Evotech radiator and oil cooler guards are essential and the engine guard does a great job too. I highlighted the accessories I'd fitted in the posting on accessory manuals. I've since fitted a set of Barkbusters and the Ducati/Touratech riders "comfort" seat. I also did the @bradders trick with a spring on the exhaust valve. I'll be replacing the chain and sprockets this winter (2 years / 16,000 miles) for a DID chain and 15/42 sprockets. Maybe I too should stop resisting fitting a side stand "big foot" the same as @Coman. I have a side stand "puck" in the tank bag (attached with a length of cord for easy recovery). And finally, as @Twin4me says going to the EMM is a must.
I've been super interested in the hands free tank opener also but just very worries about adding any more electronics to the bike given recent experiences. Let me know how it goes!
Do you mean radiator guard? How come that's important? First time I heard of it so very curiou . Thought it was only cosmetic
Thanks! Any problems with the key free fuel cap? Are you on a 1200 or 1260? I've always been worried about adding electronics to the bike.
Thank you for the comprehensive answer! Curious why people recommend the water and oil rads as essential - can you explain? What do you mean by grip puppies? And sorry not familiar with rapid bike? Is there a point with a side stand big foot if you're not going offroad? Great idea with Scottoiler!

IME the keyless fuel cap has been ultra reliable, bought a used one 6 years ago and 70k miles and 3 different Multistrada models later, it's still working fine, no doubt that'll put the kiss of death on it!!
I've had keyless filler caps fitted on all 4 of my Multis (2010, 2013, 2015 & 2017) over 9 years and 60,000 miles - never had a problem! Grip Puppies (available on Amazon and elsewhere) are foam handlebar grips which slip over the standard grips. I like them because they increase the grip diameter which I found a bit small as standard. A side stand foot or puck is useful when out and about or on tour, if you have to park up on a soft surface (e.g. grass, snad, gravel) at a lay-by, pub car park, etc. A must if you're camping. Disabling the exhaust valve, either using a Duc-ee device which disables the valve electronically or disconnecting the cable from the valve and using a small spring to fool the servo into thinking it's still connected to the valve (i.e. the @bradders mod). The radiator is very easily damaged by any stones thrown up into it from the front wheel, especially if you don't have the optional front mudguard extension fitted. Defiantly not a cosmetic item. The oil cooler is less likely to get damaged however a guard is still a good idea. A holed rad or oil cooler would be expensive and definitely cut short a tour. The Evotech engine guard is very good at reducing damage to the horizontal cylinder head. I think it also looks good. Evotech sell the guards separately or as sets (rad & oil cooler or all three) at a small discount.

Ref the side stand foot - apart from the need for something like that on soft ground I have found it very useful when heaving the bike upright on sloping ground, especially a fully loaded bike whilst touring. I'm not long in the leg and it can need real effort to pull the bike vertical after you've mounted it. Chances are the ground falls away slightly and those extra few degrees are difficult, so a side stand foot, which may add a centimeter to its length, keeps the bike more vertical and therefore easier when starting off.
I got a big foot off eBay. Fits fine. The main reason was my Multistrada leans over too far on the prop stand. The foot has helped. All other recommendations above sound good to me. I’ve just had my seat reupholstered to remove the dip. Cheaper and possibly better than buying the comfort seats. Had no problem with the electronic fuel cap so far but that’s mainly because I haven’t fitted it yet. (Most people say they’re fine).
When it comes to radiator guards there seems to be a lot of talk about fitting the Evotech version, are they better quality than the oem version (Touratech) or just cheaper?
