Mutations. We have such a large number of infections, the fear is it could mutate into something more deadly. Every single infection is one more opportunity for that to happen.
Furlough with 80% of wages, business support schemes, millions already vaccinated including all those in a car home, managing a tough brexit with EU threats exercised by putting millions of lives at risk in Oreland to score points with bully not tactics...
Is that not life though?! This is what happens with any virus (not detracting from the severity of this particular one) just stating that in my dealings with the nhs they all but except that there’s fuck all you can do about virus’s mutating. from my gatherings over the last few weeks at various trusts. It seems accepted now that the vaccine doesn’t stop it transmitting. Which to me doesn’t seem that surprising. Transmissions of the viral type do tend to come with mutation. Just like the flu and most other virus’s I can think of tbh.. with it without a vaccine. edit: not being a dick by the way. Just speaking. I’m not an expert in anyway but a lot of this stuff seems fairly obviously flawed from the get go. Again not saying I have answers. But I’m not paid to. I’m not allegedly an expert in this field. It does strike me as odd that we seem so lost so far in to this still. And that fuck all of it to this day seems to stack up. It’s an almighty shame and an almighty mess. We really should be better in honour of those who have paid the ultimate price
It is always the case that any virus will mutate. The problem would be if it becomes more deadly rather than just more contagious.. The first SARS outbreak in 2002 was less contagious but more dangerous if you did catch it. 40% of those who caught that in Asia were hospitalised. That doesn't bear thinking about in the current climate. Hopefully that will not happen but every single infection is an opportunity for that too happen. Reading up about viruses on medical websites (rather than twitter or FB 'experts') is fascinating. They mutate by effectively almost 'mating' with another virus and swapping genetics.
Highest number of deaths in the EU. Worst performing economy in the G7. Rampant corruption blatant enough to be called out in the BMJ. Record ever level of national debt. Spiralling unemployment. International reputation at an all time low. UK under existential threat. Schools still closed with no sign of reopening. Economy on life support. Front bench of raab, gove, Patel, Williamson, and worse. Bright star is saunak who has given no clue as to what t f he is going to do when he can't borrow or print more money. Trade border in the UK. Freedom of movement removed. Erasmus scheme ended. Working time directive and workers rights under threat. City of London haemorrhaging jobs. Trade chaos. Lock down. Bribe to go out. Lockdown again. Unlockdown then don't. I could go on.
