The Sopranos is one of the best mafia series ever made. When you've finished it, there's a film about the young Tony Soprano (starring James Gandolfini's son) called 'The Many Saints of Newark'. There's an Italian series called 'Gomorra' that is also brilliant (and brutal) with English subtitles. Also, 'Gangs of London' has some of the best fight scenes ever put on screen.
And if you enjoyed Steve Van Zandt's performance in The Sopranos, there's a follow-on series called 'Lillehammer' that's worth a watch.
Very disappointed by the Bill Nighy film 'Living'. No atmosphere and very much not his "...best ever performance..."

Watched that SAS thing again last night on the beeb, watched last week too ...hoped I would get more into it the more I watched,but it still doesn't do it for me, just seems too flippant, comic strip bollox and 'boys ownish' to me...but its getting rave reviews so I guess i must be missing something?
