Arley Hall & Gardens Is the house They also used Peveril of the Peak or simply the Pev in town, cracking pub. Have yet to see the episode where Stockport underground air raid shelters are used.
Just done the same and feel exactly the same, so I've signed the petition to strip Vennells of her CBE for "services to the Post Office". You couldn't make it up. https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petiti...page&utm_medium=promotion&utm_source=homepage
Did one other main P.O protagonists (Adam Crozier) leave and join ITV? Who now appears to have escaped mention in this (ITV) production...
Well spotted Sir, CEO of the Post Office from 2003 to 2010. Not sure exactly where that leaves him in the timeline in relation to the prosecution, sorry, persecution of the sub postmasters but he does seem to have avoided mention.
Apparently Paula Vennells has been shamed into returning her CBE. The statement that comes with says how she will continue to cooperate with the investigation. Clearly her concept of cooperation and mine are poles apart.
Just wondering how 'giving it back' compares to the increasingly likely, and potentially more embarrassing, alternative of 'it being repossessed'.....looks like an easy option to me. I don't think I'd be alone in still wanting to find out who decided to give Vennells a gong in the first place, and why they thought it was a good idea. Hopefully it doesn't curtail the current groundswell in public outrage (following a tv drama in an election year) in getting the people in the Post Office who perpetrated this vindictive persecution of their own staff in to the dock. Interesting to see the increasing number of politicians becoming embroiled, Ed Davey (P.O minister), Kier Starmer (DPP), Gillian Keegan (husband was senior in Fujitsu, still receiving lucrative govt contracts), and a potential cross party 'Nothing to see here' statement. To quote the great Yogi Berra, "It feels like Duja Vu all over again".
You wonder if there is something that can be done about decisions she will have made, or led, that leads to prosecution at the very least for perverting the course of justice in covering facts up that lead to plenty of convictions. At best, be culpable for the death or those who committed suicide as manslaughter. The IT director/CTO should be in jail, along with CFO, CEO and the Fujitsu top team.
Huge in France Gad is a famous comedian -- in France. But he faces an emotional crossroads and decides to leave his fame -- and the associated celebrity perks -- behind to move to Los Angeles. There, he hopes to reconnect with his estranged, comedy-hating teenage son. But he has to do it without the benefits that he is used to receiving in his homeland thanks to his popularity. Comic Gad Elmaleh, who has been dubbed "the Seinfeld of France," stars as a fictional version of himself in "Huge in France."
Mrs wanted to drag me along as she thought it would be a good film for us both. On account of there being a little bit of war and a romance. Not that great then?
I've recorded the programme about the Post Office scandal.........but I don't really want to watch it because I know it will make me angry.
The battle scenes were a bit half hearted IMO. It struck me as more 'romance', or Josephine being railed from the rear at every opportunity and not just by Boney. I didn't expect the actors to be speaking French, but they all had strong American or English accents, which made it a bit tricky to follow at times, unless you're an expert on Napoleonic battle dress. The director clearly doesn't like Britain (maybe it's a Hollywood thing), as there were a lot of slights at the UK during the film, I've noticed this in a few other films as well, bloody Ricky Gervais. I'd say it's worth a watch on the telly, but I'd have been sorely disappointed if i'd paid a gazzion £ to go see it at the cinema.
A friend placed me in front of the TV on wednesday as she'd what you'd done, and i did the whole lot at once, shocking.!!!!!!!!!!!
