Liar: The Fake Grooming Scandal 9pm, BBC Three In May 2020, Cumbrian teenager Eleanor Williams posted pictures of herself online with appalling injuries, claiming to be the victim of a local Asian grooming gang. The resulting social media storm stoked real-world violence in her home town of Barrow-in-Furness and beyond. But as this documentary explores, it was all complete fiction. Have yet to start this.
Flowers of the killer moon. Thought it was terrible at the start and it was until the very end, hours later.
The English, strangely engaging…. In iPlayer or if you feel Auntie Beeb just ain’t worth it as it too right/left/woke/Gammon, Amazon Prime.
We went early evening yesterday, not a brat to be seen. One that in my opinion benefits from a full size screen.
I watched Silent Night starring Keira Knightly last night. Was quite good, the underlying message was interesting.
Did you see the Louis Theroux interview series Louis heads to the seaside town of Herne Bay to spend time with actor, director and former rapper Ashley Walters at his family home. A very compelling insight into the private lives of some well known individuals
Another cinema double header today. First up was The Holdovers. If you've seen the trailer you'd be forgiven for thinking it's just a comedy, but there is more to it than that. Not what I was expecting, which is not to say I didn't enjoy it, but equally I wouldn't rave about it either. Mrs GG enjoyed it more and would recommend it. The second one was The Beekeeper. Jason Statham doing what Jason Statham does, the usual punch ups, gunfights and the triumph of good over evil. Suspend your sense of credibility and it wasn't the worst action movie I've seen.
i really liked The Holdovers but i've totally forgotten what it's about just now, only saw it last week. EDIT - just looked it up, and remembered instantly becoming a Paul Giamatti fan - shades of Dead Poet's Society.
