I've been watching Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams. You've probably seen the ads, but in case you haven't, he starts a cricket club for underprivileged teenage boys who have never played before, in his home town of Preston. I've finished S1, which documents the start up, teething problems, finding and renovating a ground and their first couple of games, and I'm now on S2, where they go on tour to India. I'm incredibly cynical and can spot manipulative program-making a mile off, but it is truly inspirational lump in the throat stuff and all the better for shining a spotlight on the problems faced by young working class men in today's society and on male mental health (including Flintoff's own after his horrendous car accident), but in a refreshingly non-wanky way. He deserves a knighthood IMO.
Really? I'll have to look out for that as I play a lot of cricket and would love to get involved in some way.
It's the same with those 'woke' viking series, black viking queen has cohort of dealy 9st bimbo shield maidens. All beating the crap out of 7ft tall, dick swinging, axe wielding warriors....Bitch,pleeeeeeeeeeease...
After watching a friend the other day competing in the RS800 nationals i was told check this one out.
Ok Barry Norman, alcohol's probably your answer here sir, but yes not in the movie collection for sure but a throwaway job.
addictive viewing, pretty sure 100% of "water happy" Forum members would love to have had a crack at this "in the day" health, wealth and age permitting.
Yes take twenty years off the clock and i'm your man, but saying that the friend and his partner in crime are 63/64 i think. # not sure but perhaps £18k new when first launched for the RS800 craft.
would love to have a go even now, as you say, but stuff would get broken or damaged even more. Still, a lot cheaper than getting an aeroplane pilots license, speaking to somebody recently who's into 30 K plus already. I'm sure there's cheaper ways to do it, Del's Easy Fly Past etc.
The thrill of life's what it's all about before we get that hand on the shoulder from grim reaper, anything's possible if the body & mind are united.
