Alpinestars SMX-R Goretex - race level protection, and waterproof with it. I've had two crashes in these and escaped without foot injury - including one where my foot was sliding between the kerb and the engine block. I had a pair of Supertech's before - supremely comfortable and protective, but not waterproof.

 

Depends on your feet. I really wanted some goretex Dainese for day to day riding, but they just didn't fit my feet. Went back to Alpinestars with some SMX 5 waterproofs. Really comfortable, well over 10000 miles used everyday, even in the snow. No complaints at all. Like most here it seems, A* supertechs for track or mad days out on road. But, being safe and comfortable is important. So try as many as you can. Daytonas which are superb, will custom make them to your feet, and can resole or repair any part of them for life.

 

It's classified I'm afraid (actually it was my real name, but I was banned many years ago).

 

Supertechs are the nuts. I have two pairs of those and a pair of Sidi Vortice. The Sidis are narrower so fit my feet better marginally, but give nothing like as much feel through the pegs and are looking virtually destroyed in a year, wheras my Supertechs are still like new! Supertechs all the way. And SMX-R Goretex for winter.

 

Alpinestars for me I have a set of SMX4 wp, SMX plus in white, and getting a pair of Toucan's, they're the only boot I can get off the shelf or order on Net and know they will fit perfect.I'd say they fit like a glove, but they're boots

 

Had the astars and the squeekin drove me nuts!! Using the dainese co-axial now and fikin love them. Easiest boot to put on I have owned and comfy as slippers

 

Goretex Sidis or Daytonas. Or Alt-Bergs.

 

+1 Got mine a couple of months back and they are great boots. Still don't think they will offer the same protection as my old Sidi's (now my track day boots), but very good quality, comfy and stylish...

 

i think the alpinestars are the best as well but a bit expensive.
i bought a pair off puma boots instead.

SMX 5, for what they cost used on ebay (now got two pairs at £40 per pair and they're like new) I haven't found better!!! And they are waterproof if I put Seal Skin long socks on. Everything I need, without going nuts on £££ can't see why you'd buy new when so many ppl seem to change their kit every year or so and hardly use it.

 

still got my Dainese pro tech boots which I bought donkeys years back and still going strong. Pity that thems and the gloves are the only thing I can fit into from all that kit

SMX plus here as well, onto my second pair, all day comfort and you get a free mouse with them, that is whats squeeking. Isn't it?

 

Cheap option: RST Tractech Evo. CE certified waterproof boot. The comfiest boots I've worn, straight out of the box (I have Daytona touring boots too which are very smart). TCX don't fit me, SIDI don't fit me. Puma Desmo are nice but couldn't find any my size (46). Resigned to buy the RST which look pretty rank, but I was able to try before buying at my local shop and they were like the proverbial slipper. I can't countenance spending hundreds on boots that don't feel right just because of the brand name so its cheap-ass boots for me
