I took mine off. My logic was that if I hit something with my handlebar, I'm off anyway. :Nailbiting: They always look like they are about to get tangled up with something to my eyes. Tracktanium doofer.
Just purchased a set of CutGrafix Number Boards for the 1198 Bike collected and currently at Italia Moto in Lincoln, wheels being repainted in Gold (Last years birthday present from Mrs M ) and service being complete. When the bike comes back I will be taking the original fairings back out of there storage boxes and giving them a good polish and was before putting them back on the bike. So not exactly bought the fairings for the bike but they haven't seen the light of day since 4 weeks after it first hit the road and the original owner removed them and fitted aftermarket fairings. Will hopefully all be done and dusted in time for putting a fresh MOT on in March (providing work doesn't carry on getting in the way!!), I'll post some photo's in the 848/1*98 section when I progress for those interested. Edit: to add a set of @Exige Hi-Cap leads to the list. Oh and a pair of Hood Jeans, why should the bike get all the treats!! Can't wait to get home and crack on with the last bits of fettling done ready for the weather picking up!

It's intended to protect the engine case in the event of a broken chain. Hopefully, I'll never need it but it could save some seriously expensive damage if the chain were to let go...
Idea is not enough room for the chain to fold itself up in the area between sprocket and engine and it guides the broken chain out the back towards your mate following behind.
