In summer i wear a technical summer base layer. Typ alpinestars. In france when >30 i wear a leatt coolit water charged vest. Never had to use it in uk. Only alpinestars. I only wear full leathet at all times. My dainese does have zipped vents which help. I just keep moving.
Beware the Kevlar jeans only need to slide at 19mph for 6 seconds to count as CE whatever. That’s not excellent.
Its more important to keep hydrated. Keep drinking water and keep yourself safe. Personal choice and all that, but I wouldnt wear anything other than full leathers with back protectors and full armour. Keeping yourself hydrated, keeps your brain fresh and alert. Which means your concentration never waivers.
Followed a lad last year weaving a bit, He passed out and pitched into a verge, luckily a fairly soft landing so no broken bones, paramedics said he was suffering from the heat and was dehydrated!
Yikes, lad was lucky. I drink gallons when in alps and france. Its amazing how cool and fresh that alone can do. Dont underestimate keeping hydrated peeps.
Round town, whatever clothes I'm wearing on the day, Outside of town but localish then normal jeans, possibly trainers and a summer bike jacket. On a long ride then yeah, proper bike kit and as boots mentioned, keeping hydrated. I tend to use a camel pack that has been filled to 3/4's and been in the freezer for an hour or so to keep the liquid chilled and for longer before the ride
