Thanks, unfortunately I never have been a fan of the Matrix edition, don’t like the colour or the marketing gimmick, so not for me.
That’s true Steve, I did say that. I suppose Im of the opinion there’ll be negligible return from a bank deposit and it’s gonna take a long time for the economy to get back to where it was and then improve further. Also, 5% compounded over 15 years will lead to a doubling in value, would not a 12k limited run/edition bike also double over that period? Possibly, although it’s not an exercise to get a definitive enhancement in value just not lose anything and get a lot of pleasure and enjoyment.
Just a thought, how confident should you be about 9** parts in fifteen to twenty years time? This whole CV19 thing shows that life is for living and might be shorter than we think. So if it were me I'd buy something I wanted for riding or beauty (ideally both of course) and if the investment happens so much the better. Man maths works on purchasing bikes, it can also make us feel good on "investments" too. I'm already looking forward to your purchase. SPROCKETS!
WRF, you’ve just offered €6700 on a 1098R let us all know how you get on please, it’ll be interesting.
Ducatis are way cheaper in EU. I bought two in 2018. Collected one from Paris and had another shipped from Rome. If you don't mind a little extra paperwork, it is worth it.
Watch this space, I missed one last year for 5,5k. 6700€ is the sale price, I am just waiting on a response and then I will ping over a deposit. The 998S that is up at 9k is a beauty, 41kkms will put most off on here though, I personally wouldn’t give a ff but I’m all about the R’s!
I agree entirely, I live in Europe and have sourced all my bikes unseen from neighboring states, mainly Nazi Germany (or just Germany as they insist on calling it nowadays). Nobody seems to whinge about the mileage/kms like they do in UK or cry and say ‘it’s not a UK bike’ whatever that may be? UK schmooK I say. Cancel your manicures, grow a mustache and harden the fuck up guys. You only need a van and a boat ticket ffs!
That is indeed a consideration, although in their favour there were considerably more 748/916/996/998 made than previous runs and a lot of the parts are consistent across the range, so hopefully supply would be OK.
I can easily get parts for my 1971 250 Mk III racer. Specialists for a brand like Ducati are not unusual, Lacey, Moto di Marino etc...
888? please tell more. Scrambler? Hmm some I like, some I'm not that keen on. I do have a beard (short) though, and don't often wear sock in summer time so I suppose I'm hipsterishly suited enough
Alternatively I could just hang on to my 21 year old 748 I've had since new and not constantly be looking for something more
Calling you on that. VegiBurgerGate!!!! Bike Shed. As witnessed by: @Sam1199 @chizel @brettski @Not Carl Fogarty
I should have known not: you would have mentioned it at least a couple of times in each of your posts if you were!
