I just think they look great, they are in your price range and if you look at the 1098 Tricolore, tend to command a bit of a premium. A 1199 Panigale is also a great bike.
Well ,i had £12,000 so bought a 1200R Monster, its a keeper so if it works out to be a investment its a bonus,if not it is hell of a lot more fun than looking at the money in the bank earning nothing
1198SP 5k miles £12k 1198SP 14k miles £13k 1198S Corse 5k miles £14k For sure the Corse is a lovely looking paint job but is a Corse really worth more than an SP? After all it’s an S with a paint job, a paint job & graphics that can be copied, no? Just putting it out there.
I've never been sold on a black 1098, but they look OK with the red frame. Horrible red anodised bolts and clutch cover. Has the slash cut Termi's. Red SP looks a nice bike and the correct colour for an SP. Horrible exhausts. Double the miles of the others, but not excessive. The Corse paint job is very nice, but Jem certainly can't clean a bike. It's overpriced as well. I'd go for the Corse. That's the one I would look at every time when I went in the garage.. You can fit a slipper and QS if you like.
Yeah, I know it's an 1198 SP. I meant the 848 / 1098 / 1198 series of bikes. I just meant I've never been sold on them in black.
What's the difference between the S and SP other than colour? If the Course was a limited edition how many were made?
I’m pretty sure the 1198 SP has some different engine internals to the S as well as what Rob said above. Both 1198SP and 1198 Corse were produced in limited numbers but neither are a limited edition run ie no plaque, which raises the question what exactly is a limited edition. If only 295 of XXX were produced but carries no ltd Edition plaque and 1500 of YYY were produced as a Ltd Ed which is the more limited ps Im glad we’re talking Ducatis in this thread and not politics/brexit/CV crap
Actually that gave me an idea. Imagine if a thread starter had the ability to moderate their own threads, if anyone veered off track or started bringing the thread around to something it shouldn’t be, or got abusive, then the thread starter could just delete that post. Wouldn’t that be cool
And relinquish control from the dark lord, he's the only grown up on here Like the Brexit thread? The one 'chosen' to run would be started by a Remoaner
It is nice to see a thread dedicated to Ducatis on the Ducati Forum. Far too many random threads about any other shit along the lines of ‘my conservatory is broken’ or ‘where can I get my dog shampoo’d etc’? Personally I think you should look to the continent for your choices and also consider a 999R or that 1098R in Spain. A genuine R ticks all the boxes and will likely appreciate in value at a greater rate than these others. You will grow to love the look of the 999’s over time, they are far prettier than the 1098 range imo!
