I live on the outskirts....Harcliffe must be really popular as I always see helicopters heading that way most nights.... My neighbour over the road from said it nicely...."we were looking to downsize, looked around and couldn't find a road better to live in" - so they bought the house next door to us which has been empty for 18months or so....I think he got the keys last Friday and by Monday turned the back garden into Hiroshima...let loads of light in ours now though.!
When the Camerons bought this particular house he was only leader of the Conservative Party not the PM and security wasn't as tight. Now there is a fully kitted out but discreet (you'd never know what it was if you walked past) security building in the garden and a 24 hour guard. Back then all they had was two security guards working shifts sitting in a car in the road outside the house. Opposite the Cameron's house are some cottages. The occupant of one of them parks his Landrover in the road. One day he came home, parked directly in front of the security guards as usual and went indoors. When he came out again later that day the Landrover had been stolen..
