  7. I think I still have pretty much everything - that includes quite a few Corgi and Dinky models in their original boxes in pristine condition (I was a careful, somewhat anally retentive child...). But all the stuff lives in my parents's attic in England, so I haven't seen it for years. They don't ever throw anything away, though, so I am sure it's still all there. Mind you, I wasn't exactly swimming in toys as a kid.

I do have a pull-along Triang Green Line tin plate single decker bus (quite big). Some years ago, when the economy was better, one of these sold on auction for £2'000. It's the rarity - all the kids wanted a red one. But my brother got the red one and green was my favourite colour... I couldn't believe that I could get the same for it as I paid for my Pantah in 1985. Then the market tanked. No idea what they are worth now. And I still don't see why I should sell my Corgi James Bond Aston DB5 (?) in it's box. Not a scratch on it and still have the little man in the ejector seat, and the "Top Secret Instructions". It might be worth 70 quid, but what can you do with 70 quid these days? Tank of petrol?

  16. I had a look round at my stuff last night and have discovered I still have a drawing board that I had when I was 11; plus a half used pack of Lakeland colour pencils which I am sure I was given when I was about 8.....so I kept looking and found some of my old man's football medals which he gave me when I was about 8 as well.

  19. Like many others a few scarred knuckles and the like along with some fairly painful memories of strict discipline from the old man but I did learn to have respect for others etc so maybe it had some merits, regrets over the opportunity of an expensive education which I never appreciated at the time and totally wasted. Thousands of happy memories from mucking about in the woods and parkland near home, fishing in local ponds and rivers and generally having a laugh but I don't think I've got many objects from those days except my first ever fishing rod which my Dad bought me when I was about 9yrs old and a model of Gypsy Moth 4 which I got soon after Sir Francis Chichester finished his solo round the world voyage in 1960 something.
