  6. To this day I still don't know how I got away with this, but I was caught doing 132mph in a 60mph zone on the A24 on my 1098S. The traffic cop in an unmarked purple (can you believe it ?) BMW started the old blues and two's and pulled me over. I stopped, got off the bike, took my lid off and apologised straight away. I told him it was my first real ride of the summer and I'd got over excited and I should have known better. He said he'd been following me for about 15 miles. He said despite the speed he hadn't seen me do anything dangerous as I'd slowed down at roundabouts "and stuff" but he didn't like the fact I'd undertaken a TVR. He said he understood why as he wouldn't move out of the way but I still shouldn't have done it.

He let me go telling me to "calm it down a bit" but don't be too frightened to make safe, rapid progress. His parting shot was not all of his colleagues are fellow bikers and many wouldn't take such a lenient view.

I still can't get over what a cool guy he was and to this day I'm thankful to him. I also still have a clean licence !

  7. I passed an unmarked police car at 210Kph, the limit here is 100Kph, I saw his lights in my mirrors way back about 20Km later when I was stuck behind a slow moving row of vehicles, so I pulled over in a "layby", took off my helmet and waited for him, he got out and asked if there was a reason for my speed, I said no, just that it's good fun, he said "Yeah it is isn't it", gave me a bollocking, a ticket for doing 130Kph, and then we talked bikes for 10 minutes, result I thought :upyeah:

  8. got stopped once in my Vauxhaul Firenza for going too fast down a dual carriageway but my clocks were broken and the nice gentleman in uniform was waiting further down the road by some cones and waived me over - told me to turn the radio down and sent me on my way :upyeah:

Never had a single point on my licence - very much due to luck rather than judgement

Did a speed awareness course after being caught 46 in a 40

    Doubt it will last mind

Also 160 mph on the CBR 1000F, Drax byapss, not long back - yee-haa

  10. Me too, but don't know how!

  11. Me to! Mind you, having been away from bikes for 20+ years I've found that modern bikes are, all round, so much better than my memories of my old bikes, so therefore I am taking my time to learn my bikes, and my, capabilities, and so far the bike is beating me hands down! It can go so much quicker than my brain can so I have to be very careful! So far I've only seen 125 on the clock, on a very quite Sunday morning on a dual carriageway that had no access points and nowhere for the law to hide. It would have been more had there been more road and had I not realised just how good the brakes are!

  12. I added up the total amount of points I've had - I think it ended up at 58, including converting the old endorsement system, and 3 bans. What can I say, I like going fast.

  13. Was looking for the Alexie Sayle "Romford Bypass" sketch, but not found it yet (the one with "...come to a roundabout, knocked it down a cog...").

License currently clean here, last 3pts expired in July. Not sure how long that will last, though.

recall seeing an indicated 136mph on the 998, then realising and winding it back.

  14. Get caught anywhere by the plod and you get double tapped by the Army, failing the service test is such an easy thing to do

  15. Yep ... currently .... :)

All points were wiped following my ban !

  16. Like music to your ears when they say that, isn't it
