A few of this lot were my mates. The rest I knew off and on, some i never met before but I should have been on this video too but guess what. My lammy broke down. I used to be in the A21AnimalsSC.
This thread has been hijacked by ex scooterists. No casuals or soul boys allowed. By soul boy I mean the Sergio Taschini or gabichi brigade in their MKII Cortinas. Level 42 is not fucking soul you c...........
Northern soul: The music was great, the dance moves cool. The fashions were.... er..... of their time: hideous.
Hey, Ive still got a pair of bags. My old vest with patches on lost the will to live many years ago and disintegrated.
3 I bet they dont even fit me anymore. Havent tried em on for years. lol. Actually now you come to mention it, i havent seen them for a while. Hmm wifey has a tendency to sneak out my old stuff to charity shops without my knowledge. I shall report back my findings and wifey better not have sent these the way of my fave dennis the menace t shirt and other assorted favourite items of attire. That T shirt was a fucking original too. Even if it was scruffy. I loved it.
3 buttons? To the charity shop! No credibility unless you had at least 5 buttons. I am proud to say that even as an adolescent in the 70s, I thought that bags were just vile. Normally worn half mast with zip-up platform booties.
5 buttons? Are you a girl? I can't take anything seriously from someone who advocates 5 buttons. You've gone too far this time. You've changed. I don't know you anymore.
Well, if you're going to do the bags thing, you may as well go the whole hog. But I definitely remember guys at school with 5 and it was considered the more buttons and the huger the waistband the better.
It was the mid 70s. Where else would I have been? Actually, I might have fancied some zip-up booties. Sadly, they were never on offer. But bags? Well out of that one. Of course, north of the Border...
