A local talent, seen him a few times in bars in and around Consett Mitch Laddie - Inner city blues - YouTube
There's lyrics? Having grown up listening to Jon Anderson, I usually think of vocals as an extra instrument rather than a sequence of words
Having grown up listening to Jon Anderson, that's a very sensible viewpoint. But even at the time in the hippy 70s, it was already annoying to have "sound poems". But then even Yes take the piss out of themselves now for their ridiculous and pretentious use of capes as stage garb. A decent lyricist manages to make harmonious sounds whilst simultaneously conveying ideas and emotions of great import. So that excludes most people, then.
Glidd, you're not even a "teeny bit cosmic", are you? I also like lyrics that chill the fuck out of me.
everything you say is just.. well, right Loz We Have Heaven by Yes - YouTube not in stereo unfortunately (the footsteps)
When Keys to Ascension came out and people started listening to That, That Is, some of the wags on the Yes newsgroup started to refer to Anderson's "Scholarly discussion of today's society's troubles" and such. The irony was hilarious. Bah. You had to be there.
inevitably :- Yes - Awaken . Studio Version HD Audio - YouTube this has blown me away as A/ It's been so long since hearing B/ This HD rendering is so sharp. Topped me up for another 25 years now.
Awaken - ahh, a little bit meh. I always preferred Almost Like Love but then, I don't care who I offend
