The Clash have a few ‘covers’ in their recordings, I prefer The Clash’s version to be honest. This cover is better than the original too a great rendition.

I listen to loads of stuff, as long as it has someone who can sing! But weirdly I was listening to Avril Lavigne yesterday on my run! I felt like a 15yr old Emo girl! But some of her stuff is good

I remember my mum confiscating this from me when I was about 10 after I had somehow got hold of a copy and was playing it repeatedly at full volume, no doubt to the horror of the two old spinsters who lived next door

I was only 6 when it came out and I can't imagine what it must have felt like when punk arrived on the scene. It's still a great song 44 years later, although I can't listen to it without Vic Reeves's "Pub singer" coming to mind
