What music are you listening to ?

Working my way through Spotify’s suggested Daily Mix 1. Mmmm, only opened the account yesterday so need to get some ‘likes’ into the algorithm to limit some of the more off the wall suggestions. Andy

 

My lads guitar tutors band did a few gigs opening for the Cult, the Cults lead guitarist owns a Scrambler.

 

The two I put on are from my Spotify. Got a few collections on there, this one is about sixteen hours so dont get many repeats! Now on Mr Jones...

Somewhere in the loft I've got a 12 inch single with "White Punks on Dope "

 

The singer is Re Styles aka Shirley Macleod but the main songwriter was Jane Dornacker who tragically died in a helicopter crash, she'd survived another one that same year..

 

Apart from Fee Waybill , I knew almost nothing about The Tubes , outside of the songs
but watching one of the follow-on videos ( Don't Want to Wait Anymore ) , I see that Fee Waybill had a
rather nice touch on guitar .

Yer woman Shirley certainly has the perfect voice for that song ....
as does Mrs Terry Bozzio on this delightfully sleazy tune

 

In my garage with my 1980’s mix cassettes..

 

Was Little White Punks the B side to this, my brother bought the 7” single on White vinyl I recall.

 

Are you thinking of " White Punks On Dope " ?
That's what's on the 12" , together with " What Do You Want From Life "

This seems an appropriate song for these difficult times ..... the criminally under-rated Roy Harper
Sometimes known by his fans as Harpic .... " Clean round the bend " ....
