  8. Santana are always worth their salt.

  9. Interesting... and I note Billy Preston was also mentioned in the same article. Someone who gave just great vibe & quality to both Stones & Beatles tracks.

In fact all of these old school singers & musicians with a childhood background in gospel gave that just great vibe to so much of not just rock but motown & funk.

  10. One that I had tickets for that COVID buggered up, they haven’t toured over here since :(

  11. The hook is lifted from a Jimi Hendrix song but I can’t remember the bloody name of it.

Edit: the song is “Third Stone From the Sun”.

  14. A sadly underrated band IMHO

  15. Generally I don't like UFO. But this...

I think this is one of the great, hard rock performances - largely down to Michael Schenker.

This relates to two posts I made today. Kim Kardashian's arse, inspiring my new sig. courtesy of Spinal Tap's obvious pastiche of this - 'Big Bottom'. And the fact I was introduced to this by a fellow student at Morden, who lent me the album, 'Phenomenon'.

And I couldn't listen to it for the longest time, because it's what I was playing as the Stramonium came on, and thereafter, while not exactly a flashback, it brought it all back vividly enough; in the same way I couldn't drink vodka again after topping up a pint of brown and bitter with a quarter bottle, then going into town and downing several Southern Comforts.

'Doctor Doctor' was the other one.

  16. I never had a problem with Southern Comfort though.

  17. Good to see you back on here 900streetfighter! - it's been so long i can't even remember your name.

This belongs on this Forum, although also linked with tragedy again.
