He's got a great voice but it's Martin Gore who does all the song writing and the words. Gahan just sings the stuff. I was just having this conversation with the wife, as we were listening to Depeche Mode's greatest hits thing (she's obsessed - we went to see them a couple of months back). A bit galling, I felt, for Gore seeing as he writes everything and Gahan gets all the glory. But then Gore probably gets all the money...
Cream. It's Going Wrong. Probably the best short rock song ever written and performed. Bruce's vocals are haunting, Clapton's guitar is as meticulous and precise as a Queen lyric. The real power behind the song is the drumming of Baker. Absolutely awesome. Please, listen to this track before you die. (or go for another cup of tea)!!!!!
I was listening to "Sunshine of Your Love " a couple of days ago. I know that criticising Clapton is like criticising Shakespeare. But he just hasn't got enough reverb on that guitar.
I had to look them up in the Wikipedia after the concert. I was convinced they were hoofs. Not so, it would appear.
It is such a good song that I got the fucking title wrong. It is We're Going Wrong. Sorry. The other comments are still valid.
Please listen to Cream. We're Going Wrong Elgar's Cello Concerto. Performed by Jaqueline Du Pre. Life changing (well, they were for me)
