What Previous Bike Or Bikes Do You Wish You'd Kept?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by John Mac821, Dec 15, 2022.

  1. I wish I'd kept most of them tbh.... The ones I really miss are my 748, my Aprilia RS250 and the 899 I think

  2. another vote for all of them (poss the S4RS monster though :upyeah:) Love this pic I got for my last bday...........

Killing flies in droves!..I would quite happily have another one of these, but not many good original examples left and strong money atm.

  4. My old Lambretta GP200 1970. It was an Arthur Francis Special X-Type 250 in Blue/Purple metalflake. I'd changed the 250 (which was a 3 ring bultaco piston conversion) to a Ts1 sleeved 225 with Yamaha piston, rod, ends and billet crank. Reed valved to an Amal 34mm PJ and a Michek spannie. Clutch modded which gave you an iron grip left hand until I hydrauliced it, along with disc brakes. I got 96mph out of that for a brief moment before I returned to 80 which it would do all day long. Needed shares in Silkolene as I consumed so much of it.

Oh, and my old 1198. I miss that bastard.

  6. Are they red DMs you're sporting there?

  7. Yup, they were extremely rare and hard to find back then too. Bought from Shelleys in Deptford High St.

  8. This castle is just around my neck of the woods!! Chateau de La Clayette - I love taking pics of my bikes there too.
    Small world… ;)

  10. @bootsam

You have a proper Mod look on this pic.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  11. Think the red ones were specials for Shelleys only. In those days it was black or ox blood only, now you can get any colour you like. There I am sporting a top knot too and ears full of earings and nose peircings. Think this is circa 1984 or earlier.

  12. Thanks but I wasnt a mod after 18yrs old, once I sussed what Quadrophenia was about. Plus, its difficult to remain clean riding Lammies as they inevitably break down and I had permanent oily fingers. I was just a Scooterist. Into Northern Soul and The Cramps.

  13. Oh and this one...

  14. i'd a chance on the following two at the local dealer back in 2014 i think, 888SP5 with 16km's and a brand new Supermono, unfortunately both at £25k a piece:eek:, also a new RC30 / 45 back in the day when i was running fireblades from Dobles.
Plus that 916 sps Carl Fogarty Replica 004 on Autotrader for less than £9k in 2014.......the sad thing's that i can still see the images wth google on this bike, but hey that's life and i'm very sure something else'll come my way some day in the future.:)

  18. Blades, brilliant touring bikes! Fully loaded with pillion and still a joy to ride. My old one is out there somewhere with SORN status, hopefully just for winter... :)

  19. I had three Blades but the 954 in that blue colour was by far my favourite and iirc  it was, and still is the lightest Fireblade Honda have ever made ?
Early 2000’s was the best time for biking imo, had some great bikes and times and it didn’t seem to cost you an arm and a leg like it does now :(
I really wish Honda would also make a more road focused version of the new CBR 1000 rrrrrr,.rrr sp or whatever they call it, I would buy it in a flash, Honda build quality and reliability is right up there imo.

And the 30th anniversary edition just looks the bizzo !
That’s how you do aero wings on a bike :upyeah:
Have you seen that horrible stuck on shite on the new BMW M1000R ???
Jeez they look like some £10 quid EBay specials from China just pop riveted on the side of the bike, what a total abortion, …surely to god you can do a bit better than that BMW :( ??
