oh crap I’m on the Portsmouth boat apparantly 2 nights sails at 10-30pm but that could change if I can find work from West Country or indeed earlier jobs there is a Friday and Saturday crossing
Assume that you're on one of the économie sailings, either to Santander or Bilbao, both already fully booked, taking about 30 hours. The Pont Aven takes a smidge over 24 hours but is apparently running on one engine only as repairs are waiting for the off season. Will add to my adventure if that fails in the middle of the Bay of Biscay
No the economy is Saturday apparently this one on Sunday is going to France first probably crew change
2 up to (our loire mobile home), moto gp france , grandstands , ride to Toulon and ferry to Corsica on 2013 36k mts abs
I finally got hold of the guy at work who was planning my 2nd trip above. His wife has put her fiit down as it's their 25th anniversary and his holiday is travelling with her. So....... Number 1 is on Number 3 - I'm going to do a twist on the NC500, I think. Maybe around 6 days going up and down the west coast, via the lake district. I might do single overnight stops or base myself in places for a couple of days.
MrsH and I have been having chats. Possible change of plan ... looks like I might be doing Alaska to Argentina next year!
West is best. I'd do west coast and up as far as durness before coming back down. Good bit to do in durness area. Camp there, but ride to John ogroats etc and back as sun sets . Awesome
Route down here (Covilha, mid Portugal, next to Serra da Estrela Natural Park) was pretty exceptional. Did a lap of the park yesterday which was also damn good apart from an off road section on a RIDE recomended route, do they actually ride these?... Will be in touch when I get back as returning via a different route.
She would like to come with me but it just isn’t going to work timing-wise for her for a few more years what with the kids and all, whereas I need to do it in the next year or two as after that there is a fair chance I’ll be on insulin with my Type 2 Diabetes and the refrigeration and large supply needed for such a long trip will make it much more difficult if not impossible. We’ve settled on a compromise ... I do it next year (business demands permitting) and she does Kilimanjaro, which is something she’s always wanted to do. She may also fly out and do a section with me. We will then maybe repeat the full trip together in a few years if my health allows it. Carpe diem as they say.
About six months from Alaska to Argentina. It’s a monster! The South America section is more than 100 days.
Now that sir, is a proper ride. I’m already looking forward to the pictures. Good luck with your plans.
Hopefully Ireland to Portugal again just a different route this time more of a coastal route this time do all going well
Couple of tours, one not yet decided upon but will be riding from London to Chaves Portugal with the EMM lot in June.
