I had PR3's on my K13400R I thought they were outstanding, did over 5k on them before I sold bike, and they still had loads left, I have used PR4's on a few bikes, always out standing
I hated PR3's on my ST, but I liked the PR2's. I think the PR3/4 look gay as well. I'm running Dunlop Q3's on my 998, so might try something else on the ST when it's due. Craig
Well I don't know about PR3s 'looking Gay' ???? (is that some kind of insult?) I have them on my Triumph Sprint RS 955i and love them. They saved me a couple of weeks back when I hit Diesel on a roundabout (A24/A264 junction), I slid but the tyres grabbed stopped the slide (whew!). Anyway I have just bought an ST4 which has Michelin Macadam tyres on it and they are absolute crap! They may have been on from (nearly) new. They are old tyres and the bike has done 17000 miles but riding it home they were appalling! I've also ordered EBC HH brake pads all round - Any insults on those? lol
Macadams!! Must be over 15 years since I had them on an Fzr600r. Bloody rubbish tyres when they were fresh. They must be lethal.
That's exactly what Boyd at Alf's said! Still, not any more. PR3s going on! I should sell the Macadams on ebay, there's plenty of tread left, someone, somewhere must want to kill a biker! lol (As though there aren't millions of them driving round in boxes!)
I had Bridgestones on my VFR750. When I got it it had 021s on it which were appalling and seem to be universally hated, but I replaced them with 023s and they were very good. Having said that I do prefer the Michelin PR3s on my Triumph so that's why I've gone for them on the Duc.
Basically I am happy with the PR3s on the Triumph and they're cheaper than the PR4s. Cost is always an issue!
