sounds like you shouldve looked in the ditch near Daves.. Dave, shame you didnt do one of those 'brand new bike, binning it on the way home' videos that festoon youtube...we all love them.
my first Duke was an M600 monster back in about 1997..it was only a couple of years old, but it was fkd about 6 months after i owned it...cans used to deck out all the time, and i was a bit of hooligan on it..i had a blade at the same time, so the monster felt like a toy...i actually cracked the frame...anyway, havent got a pic of that, but heres my second Ducati, which i had for a year or two after being away from bikes for about 5 years... loved it, but hated the paint....here she is the day i sold her.. Its better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all! And here she is whilst I was repairing her following a flywheel departure incident!
Heres Daisy. My 1st. She and I are still very much in love. We've been together for 15yrs and are both still very happy.
I respect that Bootsam... I cant see me and my baby ever parting...i hope to be riding around on her, wearing period correct leathers like these old Norton boys do now, when im an arthritic, twisted, evil old fekk....basically me as i am now, but with arthritis.. whats the mileage on the old slag? if your balls were in a vice and you had to choose between Daisy and your 1198.....???? has the 1198 told you what her name is yet?? (PM in confidence if you feel a bit gay answering in public)
Daisy doesnt like me talking about 'the 1198' much. (sshh, her name is Daisy too. All my bikes are Daisy. I have no idea why. I dare not subjectively question my subliminal motives for fear of what I might find.)
one thing i love about seeing a tidy 916 is its like looking at an old friend... give daisy a little pat when you tuck her up...
Hold on. Did I understand 35 Ducatis in 8 years? You are buying them at a rate of 1 every 3 months? That is some habit. I also bought a 999 in 2005. But I haven't bought another one since. I smoked once but I didn't inhale.
i had a mallaguti cavalcone during 1983, pete1950 tells me theirs a connection to ducati witch works for me.
Not exactly, I mentioned that Malaguti is another well-established motorcycle manufacturer near Bologna, which makes a range a small and medium bikes. The Ducati range plus the Malaguti range would make a complete range of bikes to sell. I merely wondered whether they would ever tie up, and whether VW has noticed the synergy.
