What Whiskey Are You Drinking?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by West Cork Paul, Nov 14, 2018.

  1. @Cream_Revenge its a security tag, you better go back & pay for it tomorrow:)

  2. In his defence, I've bought stuff from supermarkets where the checkout has forgotten to remove the tag. It must have set alarm off on the way but either I didn't notice or I thought it was somebody else. The security staff obviously didn't notice either. The tag is easily removed with a pair of sidecutters.

  4. halfway through this - was very impressed (my sister sent it to me for Xmas) until I read the description ...

Haig Club Clubman is a modern and stylish Single Grain Scottish Whisky developed in partnership between Diageo and global icon David Beckham and British entrepreneur Simon Fuller.

  5. So, a marketing ploy. I learn something every day, spookily, I saw that whiskey in a shop today for the first time ever and wondered about the story. Thanks:upyeah:

  6. I'm impressed by it (the whisky) as it's very smooth and if it's the right price...........

  10. It's as smooth as Jameson's, very easy to drink, critics may label it bland

  12. Laphroaig ... I’m sick and it’s purely medicinal

  13. IMG_1280.JPG After running out of my Arberlour stock, I braced myself last night and resorted to a bottle of Royal Stag.
Once you've got the first Peg down, and stripped any remaining sensitivity from the palette, the next Peg seems almost palatable.

  15. Looks good, bet that wasn't cheap!

  16. On the basis that hand sanitiser is alcohol with some fragrance.
On the basis alcohol kills the virus on our hands.
I'm with you M@tt, I'm starting to gargle with whiskey, kill the virus in my mouth & throat:)

  17. In all seriousness Paul
I read somewhere very recently that as the Corana virus starts in the throat, gargling with Whiskey has a sound scientific reason behind it as it kills the virus.

  18. With Boris’ announcement last night I thought time for a whiskey.
I had a little Laphroaig left so that went then found a nearly empty Ledaig. Ditto.
I have not bought any whiskey for a couple of months but am now doing a stocktake.
    My spirits supply:
    1 x Talisker Skye
    1 x Laphroaig Quarter Cask
    1 x Laphroaig Select
    1 x Ardbeg (3/4 left)
    1 x Grouse (1 litre)

Should last a week or two.

    How’s your looking?

1/2 bottle bottle of West Cork Distillers (local) burnt peat cask finished
