Went to the Glasgow whisky festival a few weeks ago and the Bunnahabhain 12 was one of my favourites. Picked up a bottle with my voucher they give you on entry
Grouse... not a great fan of single malts me. And in fact I've gone a little upmarket from the supermarket own brand blends I used to go for. Once you get over the shock of the first couple of shots you're home & dry...
always been known for me classy culinary choices as well. Baked beans & sausages in a can, Greggs et al...
I have a few single malts to choose from, Singleton last night, but one of my favourites is a blend - Chivas Regal 18 - a blend of 18yo single malts. I got a bottle as a birthday present. It’s rather lovely.
Finished my favourite whiskey (Talisker 10 year) so, as a precaution to check it’s still my fave, opened this smokey devil. Nice. Very nice. But not quite as good (to me) as the Talisker.
Both nice, but I'd take the Laphroaig over the Talisker, and I'd probably take an Ardbeg over either of those. Currently finishing off a bottle of Lagavulin 16.
Filey - I’m think I went to a Butlin’s camp there when I was a wean. It’s over 60 years ago so I may have got that wrong. Yorkshire whisky - why not. I’d like to give it a go.
