    Chicken pie, mash and veg for me. Bacon cheeseburger and chips for the boy (both shared with the hound btw, in case his pleading expression has melted your flinty hearts).

    The Heston sauces, with all the meat juices and butter from the pan were amazing. Just boil them to reduce for the entire cooking time and you’ve got a rich glorious reduction. No need for dessert, just drink the leftover gravy out of the jug!

  18. We’d been riding bikes all afternoon by the river with the dog running alongside so I like to think we’d earned some refreshment. That was my second actually and I left half of it because booze really goes to my head, it was going dark and I didn’t want to end up in the drink on the return trip :D

  20. Here’s my cooking….
    I did us roast pheasant wrapped in bacon and cooked in cider, diced roast potatoes, carrots, sautéed kale & chestnut mushrooms with an onion and cider gravy.
    Lovely it was too!
