What's Your Longest Relationship So Far.?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by XH558, Dec 22, 2022.

  1. Some 50s British bikes had gear indicators of sorts. It was a metal ring with numbers around the gear shaft. Not very useful ☺️ Screenshot_20221223-094541~2.png

  2. I guess with designs like that he's career didn't last long in the industry or he raised his game.

  3. Longest out of my bikes so far is my RSV4 - bought expecting it to either explode or i sell before it exploded but i still own it 11 years on. So unreliable apparently Aprilia were dispatching whole engines to workshops in anticipation of random explosions due to at the time an alternatively sourced manufacturer of either con rods or cranks (perhaps someone can correct me?) the pre aprc version so literally no electronics in sight. Lost count of the upgrades its had but notably NiX30 fronts and a TTXmk2 rear, full akra system etc etc....cant see it going anywhere in the near future...the only things that stopped it starting is a failed tps sensor that cost me 20 quid... 20221018_152217.jpg

  5. Still have my 1961 Velo Venom, bought umpteen’th hand in 1974, now in a barn find condition, and my Laverda 1200 T bought new in 1979, neither of which are on the road :pensive:

  6. Oh and I have had my car from new (BMW 535d Touring 2007) so about 15 years... still can't decide what to change it for?! :joy:

  7. Here's my owned from new early '79 900SS, too many modifications to list today...
Pic' taken at last years DOCGB Southern Rally. Starts 1st kick almost every time and close to 150mph flat out. :grinning:

  8. 25 years at the beginning of March. 36,000 miles and I haven't used it for a few years, but I'm currently re-commissioning it with a plan to get back on it this year to celebrate picking up my state pension at the end of March. Want to grow old disgracefully:upyeah: DSCF0248.JPG

  9. motorbikes Kev, motorbikes :) - if it's to include cars then got you beat hollow due to being an old git. :)

  10. This is my second one, perfect for just swinging a leg over for B roads in my opinion, i'd upset a cbr600 owner back in 1998 coming back from Boxhill with a mate after a burger, so i celebrated with a burnout in Old Oxted outside the Crown and smoked out the town as you do.

  11. That is gorgeous.

  12. I reckon you'd that carpet longer looking at that pattern layout.;)

  13. Bought in 1992 in "just needs finishing" condition. The engine's second rebuild was completed last year. 20210527_102703.jpg

  14. They still look a picture after all these years, probably The bike from the nineties.

  15. Looking at that tent length you must be a very tall individual, on a more serious note some folk would say the original & best generation 900ss.

  16. Definitely THE bike from the 90's and quite possibly ever in a lot of people's eyes.
My pal came round last summer while I had pushed it out of the workshop to lay a new floor, he told me "keeping that in your workshop and never riding it is like keeping Elle McPherson* in your bedroom and never sha66ing her!"
    *insert supermodel to taste.

  17. I'm 6 foot tall hence the relocation of the footrests, the tent has luggage space at both ends and the Bevel SS's are the best in every way IMO.

  18. The selection was endless in that period for supermodels, something for everybody's taste buds.
