What's Your Top Ducati Niggle?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by DarR, Oct 22, 2023.

  1. Those infuriating screws at the front of the windscreen for the 1199 - V4 generation. Just to swap a windscreen, you have to take out the full front fairing + mirrors.

  4. Mirrors that vibrate badly and break off as soon as you look at them
Numbered editions - not limited just numbered, seems like a little marketing deception
Cast wheels on the Panigale V2 Bayliss - cheap skates
Poor quality bolts and screws, Allen heads instead of torx
Soft paint that scratches easily on contact with clothing
    ... think I'll stop there ...

  5. I’ve said this for a long time, if Ducati had made a cross between a Ninja 1000SX and a VFR, given it the normal V4 engine with the 35k valve adjustment and sexed the styling up a bit , I would have bought one of those instead of my Ninja, I just don’t like adventure style bikes so can’t see me ever buying a Multistrada.

Oh,…also the bloody price of new Ducati’s now, 32 grand for that new Multi RS :astonished::astonished: !
I buy my bikes outright and prices are being driven up by pcp’s, nobody considers the total cost anymore, they seem just happy to pay a few hundred quid per month and never own anything  ?

  7. Consumerism in 2023 in a nutshell isnt it?

Cant afford it? Just stick it on the never never and ignore how youre getting shafted by horrendous interest rates.

We are our own worst enemies by and large.

  8. Not only this, but they use different sizes. Choose one and be done with it!

Stripping down my 959, got about 15 different allen keys, torx and socket sizes on the bench!

  11. Did you know you're aggravating my OCD with that comment?
Don't take my word for it, just ask @Multirider75
    Now where's my pills?

  12. The price of bringing your bike to a Ducati dealership. I reckon they start at €300 and work up.

  13. That's any dealership tho, not just Ducati.....

  14. Not just Ducati but all new bikes should have a "find my i-phone" type tracker stuck right up its internals away from thieving scumbags the day they roll out of the factory.

  17. That is untrue. Most Ducati mirrors do fold.
    But only once.
Don't ask how I acquired that in-depth knowledge.

  20. Yup. Agree with this. I can tell the difference between a 10 and a 12, but why have an 11 in the mix, too? Now needing three Allen keys, and chance of picking the right one every time is…thin.
