What's Your Top Ducati Niggle?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by DarR, Oct 22, 2023.

  1. Utterly shite rear brake that seems constantly to need bled. This was on both my old multi and my current 1200 monster. Brakes are safety critical items, and subject to mot testing, so I can’t understand why it’s not been subject to a recall. Other than that I think both bikes are excellent.

Oh, more dealerships would be good.

  2. Lack of clear coat / lacquer on the 'smaller' models, which are still priced in the late teens and more than enough for the road. I want a premium build bike with Ohlins etc without having to pay mid-twenties, and have too much bike for the road.

  8. Jebus. I seem to recall that they’re based around the Lotus Elise?

  9. They are but used an ancient wiper motor, can't find a second hand one, they fill with water in the VX and rust inside out....

  10. A side stand you have to put down with you left hand while still on the bike; ffs.

  14. A thread that will run and run….

    OK,
    Dodgy heated grips
    Cheese fasteners
    Stupid, inaccessible battery locations
    Seat (dis)comfort
    Missing fuel gauges
    Corrosion issues
    Parts cost
    15k desmo service
…and last for me, the dealer in Limoges is crap.

  15. Annual service to turn the light off, make it mileage plus time. A service every other year for bikes that do low mileage

  18. trouble is the niggles all melt away as soon as the cover comes off and you look at it

again when flying along at about 8k in 3rd or 4th

there should be a thread 'things that make you forget annoying niggles'
