Biketorque racing have them in stock and have a set of GASS ones in titanium coming in shortly Must say they were really good to deal with. Got a great deal with disk bolts and cain and 2x sprockets included Demon tweets quited 1600 but that's the incorrect price so unsure if they would honour it and they don't have stocl
I paid £1700 for the wheels including rear sprocket and stainless disk bolts Added AFAM gold chain and front sprocket and AFAM tool for £1800 delivered
Weights without sprocket carrier Will take OEM weights when I can be arsed. Rear is noticeable lighter anyway
It's a sort of crackle effect. I expected just a flat powder coat but it's slightly textured. They're not as yellow as some photos lead me to think either which is a relief. OEM front and rear with no disks or sprocket carrier Front is 4.4kg against OZ 3.4kg Rear is 8.1kg against OZ 4.6kg I didn't weigh the sprocket carriers but I had a renthal sprocket anyway and the OZ with allot AFAM doesn't feel a lot different. 4.5kg or restating mass saved then so hopefully see a good difference. My lotus forged wheels are 8kg lighter than cast ones and they make a huge difference and that thing weighs 850-900kg so on a bike I expect the difference to be huge.
I was there at the weekend and it was snowing. Saw a car miss the corner at the cafe and go down the escape road and end up on its roof... luckily a lamp post stopped it goin all the way to the bottom
Went out today to test the wheels and what a difference. Can't believe how much lighter the bike is and how Much easier it turn and is much less tiring to ride Well worthwhile mod to anyone with 899/959 I wish I had bought them sooner! New chain feels good too but the bike is covered in chain lube now! Hate using a new chain for the first time!
Similar difference to when I moved from the 959 to 1299S (I think the 1299 Marchesinis are 3.1kg and 4.5kg). I was shocked at how easily it turned in comparison. as you say, it makes turning almost effortless. I bet it feels like a different bike!
That's what I kept thinking - it's like a new bike I've saved 6.5kg with exhaust 2kg with lithium battery and prob another kilo or two with carbon bits and pillion seat removal etc so with the wheels there's a substantial saving. I always felt the bike was clumsy at low speed and felt strange but now feels more like what I'm used to in a sports bike
