Dont bloody believe it. Just picked up a massive screw in my rear tyre. The tyre has only done around a 1000 miles so had plenty of life left as well Oberon are posting me their tool (and a set of foot pegs ) today so should arrive tomorrow. I may buy a separate more beefy 55mm socket to keep in the garage if this one looks like it will not last but I wanted something lightweight to keep in my bag on the bike, plus they were super good as getting it sent today.
Sooooo, it appears the Oberon socket is indeed made of cheese and/or my rear wheel has been tightened to much by the last person that changed the tyre, or more likely both! Looks like the bike is stranded for another day
Not cool I believe it should be tightened to 110nm (check that before taking it as gospel!). I ordered this one and although it's quite chunky and heavy, and i haven't tested it, it looks solid as granite. Draper 10166 3/4-inch Drive 55mm 12-Point Socket: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools
Should state that I'm on a 1199s Panigale, I didn't realise this was the Multi forum when I first posted. It's 230Nm according to the workshop manual for the Panigale. Can anyone confirm this? I wish I'd listened to you guys in the first place now! I went for this one in the end as I need something I can stash in the bag when touring and dont want to lug around two big ones.
