Which 1080 onboard camera?

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by timberwolf, Apr 4, 2013.

  1. yeh me and my foot long lol

  2. That why they call you subway? I figured it was because you go go down and whiff a tad of tramp

    pmsl

  3. for anybody with the sony.
    new firmware just released v.2

    a raft of upgrades including 1080 60fps
    with image stabilisation

  4. Changed position of cam to next to screen, much better but wont post until I've cut offending bits out ;)

  5. Ive been doing some test footage into and out of work this week, mounting my Drift on my HJC Helmet. I'll try and get some edited footage up, which should show what the camera is like in low light levels, whilst showing what a sh1thole London really is :upyeah:

  6. Just put mine next to the screen too . What do you think . Its maybe a bit in your face.

  7. youll maybe get some wind buffeting vibes and nothing but wind noise but having a blacked out screen your options are limited compared to a tank mount.
    post some vids

  8. I had mine in a very similar place and it was just fine. Wee bit of wind noise, but not bad at all.

Use the vented back door for sound but remember it's not totally waterproof with that on.

  9. Could anyone clarify the charging process for the drift 1080 camera please? I think it charges via USB? If so, anyone used the USB cigarette lighter or 240v adapters? I will not be carrying a laptop on holiday to recharge it.

  10. I know you're asking about Drifts, but a GoPro can be charged using a mains charger for an iPhone. Unplug the USB end that connects to the 3 pin plug and use the camera lead instead connected to the 3 pin plug instead. It seems to be a lot better than charging from the laptop.

As a side note for GopPro folks, I was getting around 90 mins on the highest setting from my battery before it died. Last time out I only got 40 mins! So I've bought another battery to have as a spare / to replace the original. Still using the camera loads, but looking to think up some more mounting options for it.

Anyone got the chest harness and used it on a Sportsbike?

  11. While I'm at it... here's two of my latest videos.

The whole clip is 14 minutes, but if you skip nearer the end you can see the rear view which gives awesome sound. I'm wanting to mount it on the subframe looking back with the rear wheel in view but I'm not sure how to go about it yet. I reckon one of the tougher cycle mounts with some rubber strip as a "shim" might work. I can't find anything sturdy to fix it on that's the right size. The roll cage mount is too big, the official GoPro cycle mount looks flimsy as hell.

  15. Nice white line overtake...I'd be taking that off if I were you ;)

  16. Who said it was me

  17. Your IP address when you loaded it... You know how plod take these things now. You can smash an old lady to pieces and walk around unconcerned but cross a line and give them evidence and BOOM more money towards the Xmas fund

  18. All that proves is I uploaded it, but it does not mean it was me or my bike.

  19. Any one tell me a good free downloadable dvd burner that will work on windows 8 please? I have tried a couple but can't get the things to play in my dvd player. I never had a problem until windows 8. What are you using?
