I had the sp1and at the same time the rc30 I sold the rc to build my sun room ( sun room is best money I ever spent ) and sold sp1 to buy a 1098, I really really miss my sp1. I owned it from new and spent a lot of money on it and the guy who bought it rang a year later as was selling it, by the time I rang back it was gone , doh. Really miss that bike.
Gutting that. I had a 350 power valve nicked from me. Walked up and down the bike park where I'd left it for ages till it sank in.
Rickman 650 matice. Full nut and bolt restored by my dad. Dread to think what it's worth. I don't think he will ever fully forgive me for selling it. I was 17 and bought an XR2.
Possibly my RS250, it was just incredible to ride! The difficulty comes when u say u can only have one as it wasn't an all rounder.... However since that bike and since my first 'proper bike' which was an rs125 in 2001, I have never loved a bike like I do my 899... I honestly think this one is a keeper and the next bike will be something to go alongside it
It always does! Sport classic was just so ahead of its time! They could release it now with a few small tweaks and it would be more popular I think
916sps. Reckon I could actually ride properly it these days too Closely followed by my Evo two years ago
Where shall I start ? Perhaps it was the DBD32 Gold Star 350 or maybe it was the AJS 7R or was it the 1962 Norton 650ss ? Had a 500cc Royal Enfield Meteor Minor and an Ariel 350 NH Red Hunter. It would be nice to have one for the pay day but forget wanting one to ride, I rode the Norton for 15 years and did tens of thousands of miles and the much lauded Slimline Featherbed frame and Road Holder forks ain't no comparison to my Multistrada 1200s. Getting my KTM 990 SMR stolen. It's the bike I look back on and think that we didn't get long enough together. Awesome bike and when one went past in London a few months ago, I had a pang of jealousy against the rider. Although mine had akrapovics and set of car alarms. His had standard exhausts [emoji37]
I thought about this, but I've always sold a bike to move up the food chain. I've always prefered the bike I ended up with over the one I sold. If I had to say one, it would be the MV Agusta F4 750. It was one of the original strada bikes, I had it for 8 years and it looked great.........but it was as uncomfortable as hell to ride and it was one of two bikes I sold to go towards funding my Desmosedici. No contest there
My son read this thread and asked me "what's your biggest regret dad ?" "Who's the taller, you or your brother ?"
