He actually likes the looks of the Tuono, and all of the design touches, just can't get himself to buy Italian...... I obviously rode the suzuki at the time. Oh dearie me.
Beauty’s in the eye of the holder and all that. For me the Tuono looks miles better than the MT10. I think jap styling is awful. The only jap bike I like the look of is the R1. But that’s just me. Choices, choices. It’s all good
So which comes first in importance - the bike or the track ? Is the bike just chosen as a tool for track riding almost chosen by a computer as the best solution ? Make , colour etc all being of secondary importance. My non track riding brain has it the other way round. Choose a bike that I like and then maybe blast it around a track for the fun of blasting that bike round a track. Some mates do track riding and they have chosen various track weapons for the job.
Agree 100%. I've always just bought what floated my boat, and then took it to the track anyway. Never bought a track bike, but have ended up with a few
I'm 100% opposite. If it's for the track it's for the track and needs to be track trim. Otherwise some fucktard getting it wrong makes for a very bad day.
Most do the same but the op is looking specifically for track. So track needs to be the key consideration, not comfort, mpg or ergonomics other than adjustability
Monster 1200R. Late suggestion, but it has all the correct 'bits'. Not as fast as S1r or probably Tuono factory, but quick enough for immense fun with quality Ohlins, Marchesini, Brembos etc.
Streetfighter V4 or even the 1198 twin. A Multi won't crash well on track. Geometry is all wrong for a trackbike IMHO.
Get a Tuono, set up the suspension stick on a set of RSV4 forged wheels.. then hold on tight. The mid range grunt is to behold, I don't need to mention the sound track.
. Disagree, sorry. Liking this Triumph. Looks class. Nice looking dash, electronics, triple motor. Lovely looking modern bike.
Post #29, no better riding position than my V4, which is a shame as I agree, the Tuono is a nice bike. Andy
In this instance, ergonomics is the driving factor. Old injuries to several thoracic vertebrae and a damaged shoulder have caught up with me to restrict how my neck moves. 4 or 5 laps in, I can’t look up without significant pain and rotational movement is restricted which makes it a challenge to look through the bend. Andy
A good suggestion but I am and have never been a fan of the Monster. Had high hopes for the S4RS back in the day but hated it. Andy
