Cheers for that Maccaa, but what I was wondering really was whether I had to disconnect the battery in the first place to attach the lead, I wondered whether there are any seperate screw terminals on it which I can attach it to so I don't have to disconnect it but I guess that is battery dependant. I just wanted to try and get around disconnecting it due to the alarm and immobiliser as I'm not sure if I'll have problems with it once I've reconnected it all. Thanks Stu
Stu, If the battery is the same as the 1198, which I am pretty sure it is, you would have to disconnect the battery, you may be able to cut the lead connectors and slide them in whilst hopefully maintaining battery contact, but that's just a faf. My Tuono had a data tool and you could put it into service mode so that nothing affected it whilst you mucked around with the battery. Never had a problem with the alarm on my Tuono after battery disconnects as the battery backup, on the alarm, maintained all the settings. Now if the datatool is good idea is a question for another thread:tongue: some would say rip it out........(not literally of course) I would give it a go, it would be good to check the codes all work in the comfort of your own garage, rather than on a cold wet night in the middle of nowhere, when the battery gets a bit low and you have to get the bike recovered 'cause the codes didn't work. Maccaa
Get the CTEK out the box and you know imminently it's a quality bit of kit. 5 year warranty as well. I really hate buying things with crappy short warranties!
(already been covered only read the email notification) no need to disconnectthe battery to charge it it should come with a fly lead that can be connected permenant to battery and the charger just plugs into it , the ctek also have a battery mode so you can actuallu connect it to your bike and then if needed remove the battery while you work on the bike to save loosing computer memory or alarm problems etc
