1200 DVT Which Rear Sprocket Type?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by glenandem, Jun 21, 2024.

  1. TBH, the easiest place to get front sprockets may be EBay. Just search for the part number you want.
I believe the JT part number for 15T 525 would be JTF741-15 or JTF741RB-15 if you want the rubber cushioning.
An alternative would be Ognibene 367285R15 which I believe are OEM.

BTW, re. 525 vs 530; strength isn't really the issue - lots of race bikes use 525 or even 520... the benefit of a narrower chain is reduced weight, the negative is that it'll wear faster.

  2. cheers mate I did some searching and found that jt sprocket, looks like its all the same dimensions except width is 2.2mm difference.
ive ordered the cushioned one so hopefully got a decent set up now.
ive ordered the jt 15t 525 cushioned front
    rear is a supersprox black 42t 525
and chain is a did zvmx 525 110l
I only went with 525 over 530 due to availability and its turned out around £40-50 cheaper too, im happy it will be strong enough with that did chain, its rated stronger than the original regina 530 chain and like you say if 525 is strong enough for the likes of the latest fireblade And bmw s1000rr im happy it will do the job.

  3. The 2.2mm narrower sprocket is basically the Multi 1000/1100 front sprocket, fits fine, that's what I'm using.

  4. thanks bud, thats what I thought after looking at the dimensions half the night!!!
all been ordered so hopefully comes before the weekend and I can throw it all together and give this 42 rear a try that everyone raves about:)

  5. The difference isn't as astounding as some might say, I'll be going back to 40t rear when I wear this chain out.
